MacKillop College is seeking to employ an experienced College Counsellor commencing at the begining of the 2022 school year.

<p><b>College Counsellor </b></p><p>The College Counsellor provides counselling services to the students as well as building programs that promote social and emotional wellbeing of all students. The Counsellor works with the Principal, Deputy Principals, Directors of Student Wellbeing and Level Coordinators in providing guidance to staff and students in matters of welfare.<br /></p><p><b>The role of this person is to: </b></p><p>• provide direct counselling to individuals or small groups of students </p><p>• collaborate in the development, delivery and evaluation of preventative programs throughout the college </p><p>• consult with parents and staff with regard to any student about whom there may be concerns and to participate in the development and implementation of appropriate pastoral supports and care plans for these students </p><p>• act as a point of contact between the school and the student&#39;s family, as well as external practitioners when appropriate, to increase awareness of the student&#39;s needs while at school </p><p>• keep the Principal or his delegate, fully informed about any cases involving the specific duty of care of the College to its staff and students </p><p>• formulate recommendations for staff and student welfare needs to the Principal </p><p>• provide assistance to the Deputy Principals, Directors of Student Wellbeing, Year Level Coordinators, Homeroom teachers and classroom teachers in student welfare matters </p><p>• discern with staff, students and/or parents the appropriate agency for cases requiring counselling or other intervention beyond the resources of the student welfare team </p><p>• initiate and develop effective team relationships with colleagues and professionals within the immediate network </p><p>• provide relevant information to appropriate personnel, including the annual completion of Counselling Personalised Plans for each student and contribute to the development of the plans eg return to school </p><p>• liaise with staff and share in devising activities and planning for year level days and speakers for each level </p><p>• network and liaise with community agencies in relation to students who require referral for specialized support outside of the school </p><p>• develop and maintain effective collaboration with appropriate government and community agencies </p><p>• provide an advocacy role, or to ensure advocacy for students, within the school with outside agencies such as Courts, Health and Community Services and Youth Access </p><p><b><br /></b></p><p><b>The successful applicants will: </b></p><p>• have appropriate post graduate qualifications </p><p>• have a current Working With Children Check and National Police Record Check </p><p>• be supportive of the philosophy of Catholic education </p><p>• be able to provide care and support for students whilst supporting and respecting the ethos of the school and its environment. </p><p>This position will be a Category A School Services Officer and remunerated as per the Victorian Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2013.<br /></p><p><br /></p><p><b>Your application must contain: </b></p><p>• The prescribed Application for Employment Form </p><p>• Curriculum Vitae </p><p><br /></p><p>Applications must be forwarded no later than <b>10 am on Wednesday 20 October 2021 </b>to: </p><p>The Principal<br />MacKillop College<br />PO Box 522, WERRIBEE VIC, 3030<br />Tel: (03) 8734 5200<br />Email: <a href="mailto:employment&#64;mackillop.vic.edu.au" rel="nofollow">employment&#64;mackillop.vic.edu.au</a></p><p> </p><p><i>The MacKillop College community promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children. </i></p><p><br /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
