<h4>Learning Support Officer<br /></h4><div><br /></div><div>The College acknowledges that each student is a unique individual. Many students have individual needs that require attention on the journey along the learning continuum. The Learning Diversity Program complements the pastoral care and curriculum offered at the College to enable each student to experience success and growth in their learning. For some students, curriculum programs may be altered to create a positive learning environment to meet individual needs. </div><div><br /></div><div><b>The role of the Learning Support Officer is to: </b></div><div>• Provide a caring environment, which also promotes independence </div><div>• Provide assistance in supporting students who require an adjusted learning program or who are funded through the National Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) to receive support for their individual needs </div><div>• Prepare relevant activities related to concepts in an endeavor to assist with student comprehension, reinforcement and revision, in collaboration with the relevant Subject Teacher </div><div>• Maintain up-to-date information on supported students and communicate this with the Director of Learning Diversity and relevant teachers </div><div>• Maintain high-level communication with relevant personnel </div><div>• Assist with social awareness/interaction and appropriate behaviours within the classroom environment </div><div>• Participate in meetings relevant to Personalised Learning Programs (PLPs), Individualised Learning Programs (ILPs) and Program Support Groups (PSGs) if required </div><div>• Document, monitor and report on student progress and participate in regular review and modification </div><div>• Maintain a high-level of awareness of the latest best teaching practices in the area of learning support </div><div>• Supporting students on excursions outside the school environment </div><div>• Provide support to extra-curricular activities where assistance is required.
