<p><strong>Catherine McAuley Westmead - Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta</strong> is looking for a skilled, contemporary and passionate Secondary Science/Religious Education Teacher (Permanent Full-Time) commencing in Term 1, 2022 to be part of our school community and enrich the lives of our students.</p> <p>Teachers within the Diocese are responsible to the Principal and shares in the learning and teaching of subject matters to students of the school community. Teachers are responsible for delivering high quality contemporary learning and teaching for the community they serve which is embedded in the Catholic world view. It is a collaborative ministry of witness and service and part of the evangelising mission of the Church.</p> <p><strong>Key focus areas</strong></p> <p>The Secondary Science/Religious Education Teacher will fit the following criteria:</p> <ul> <li>contemporary and authoritative professional knowledge and understanding of the teaching of science and the factors that influence learning and development, effective pedagogies, assessment and reporting, a wide range of resources, including interactive technologies, and their use in teaching and learning</li> <li>understanding of how to differentiate learning to cater for students needs in order to maximise student learning.</li> <li>exemplary professional practice which includes building effective relationships and managing complex interactions, creating and maintaining engaging and intellectually challenging and safe learning environments, planning, implementing and evaluating rigorous and inclusive learning programs</li> <li>use assessments and constructive feedback to inform teaching and learning and communicating effectively with different audiences using a range of strategies</li> <li>commitment to the continual improvement of their teaching practice and take opportunities for personal professional development.</li> <li>work creatively and constructively within a range of 'communities' inside and beyond the school and set high, achievable goals for themselves and their students.</li> <li>exhibit personal approaches characterised by caring and respect for others.</li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc">the ability to teach Religious Education.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>The Organisation</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">This position involves working with children.
