Secondary Teacher – Senior Modern History (and either Junior Geography or Junior English)

<p><b><u>Role Description:</u></b></p><p>Seventh-day Adventist Schools (South Australia) Limited is seeking to find a full time Secondary Senior Modern History teacher for Prescott College commencing a fixed-term contract in January 2022. </p><p>The Senior Modern History Teacher of Prescott College will be responsible for teaching Senior History curriculum to students in Years 11 and 12 as well as some Junior Geography or English in Years 7-10. As an excellent classroom teacher, they will have a deep and broad knowledge of current issues and best practice in education, demonstrating the capacity to work harmoniously with teams, whether in supervisory, collegial or advisory contexts.  While this position is open to all applicants, including recent graduates, experience or specialisation in Modern History is highly desirable.  </p><p> </p><p><b><u>Location/School:</u></b></p><p>Located 5km north of the Adelaide CBD, the College has an enrolment of approximately 240 and provides a family atmosphere where students have close and supportive contact with their teachers and peers. Students are provided with an education that is personal, nurturing and targeted towards developing their individual abilities. </p><p>For more information about the school please visit their website - <a href="https://prescottcollege.com.au/" rel="nofollow">https://prescottcollege.com.au/</a>. </p><p><b><u>Application Requirements: </u></b></p><p>The successful applicant will have: </p><p>• a personal faith and commitment to Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with that faith, including an active commitment to their Church </p><p>• clear communication with students, colleagues and the wider community regarding educational and welfare issues </p><p>• an appropriate tertiary education degree and experience in teaching Senior History </p><p>• registration with the Teacher Registration Board of South Australia (prior to commencement) </p><p>• the ability to meet and maintain the criteria of the Australia Professional Standards for Teachers at the proficient level according to legislation </p><p><b><u>Salary Range: </u></b></p><p>$81,000-$109,000 per annum (as per Prescott Schools Teacher Enterprise Agreement) </p><p><br /></p>
