Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) comprises 38 Catholic schools with more then 19,000 students enrolled across the Illawarra, Macarthur, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands regions.

<p>The Director of Schools invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for this permanent full time position at St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park or other diocesan school as directed, commencing 28 January 2022.</p> <p>This position sits within the School Improvement Services Secondary EAL/D Team and requires significant experience in curriculum and the capacity to support EAL/D students within Secondary Schools. This role is part of the wider EAL/D team.&nbsp;</p> <p>ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.</li> <li>A well-articulated understanding and application of student centred, quality EAL/D pedagogical practices that are grounded in current evidence-based research.</li> <li>A deep knowledge and understanding of the diverse needs of EAL/D students</li> <li>The ability to engage in EAL/D identification and assessment processes</li> <li>Facilitate the analysis of student work samples using the ACARA EAL/D Learning Progressions (and/or The ESL Scales) to direct teaching and learning.</li> <li>The ability to plan, implement and review effective teaching and learning practices that support EAL/D students’ full participation in learning across the curriculum</li> <ul type="circle"> <li>maintain documentation that assists in transparency and collaboration</li> <li>collaborate with teacher colleagues in teaching and learning design and co-teaching</li> </ul> <li>Demonstrate a commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the wider school community.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>GENERAL CAPABILITIES</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Well-developed interpersonal skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>Well-developed oral and written communication skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>Strong organisational skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.</li> </ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Recognised TESOL qualifications or a willingness to undertake a postgraduate qualification in TESOL</li> <li>Appropriate qualifications for teaching Secondary 7-12.&nbsp;</li> <li>Accredited Level B to teach Religious Education in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.&nbsp;</li> <li>The applicant must be accredited with NESA to teach in NSW.</li> </ul> <p>WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE&nbsp;</p> <p>This role is classified as a child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.&nbsp;</p> <p>Applicants are to complete an online application which asks to briefly address the essential criteria (equivalent to 2-3 pages) and submit a short CV (2-3 pages)&nbsp;</p> <p>To submit your application please select the 'Apply Now' button at the bottom of this advertisement.&nbsp;</p> <p>To confidentially discuss your application contact Sharon Gilbert School Improvement Services- Secondary on 0408 904 183.</p> <p><em>The Catholic Education Office is an agency of the Catholic Church called to stewardship and service in support of the system of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong.
