And we share in their passion for performance – whether that’s on-stage, on a court or in the classroom. </div><div><br /></div><h4>PURPOSE OF THE ROLE</h4><div><br /></div><div>The McDonald College seeks an enthusiastic and well qualified Stage 1 (Year 1, Year 2 composite) teacher to develop the school experience, inspire a love of learning, and challenge each student to reach the highest academic level of which they are capable. </div><div>The successful candidate will be an exceptional educator with the skills and experience to guide, teach and challenge our youngest students. They will be highly motivated to ensure inspirational engagement with, and the continued academic achievement of, students. </div><div><br /></div><div>The successful applicant will possess skills and attitude to participate as part of a collaborative team. </div><div><br /></div><div>This role reports to Director of the Junior School.</div><div><br /></div><h4><b>Start date January 2022 </b></h4><div><br /></div><h4>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</h4><h4><br /></h4><h4> </h4><ul><li>Participate in the development of innovative teaching and learning with their comprehensive pedagogical knowledge applied to NESA curriculum and the pedagogy of Making Learning Visible. </li><li>Demonstrated excellence in current and emerging educational developments in Early Childhood Education incorporating technology to enhance engagement in the learning environment. </li><li>Is proactive and shows initiative to develop best practice strategies for the implementation of Stage 1. </li><li>Facilitate the ongoing evaluation of teaching strategies and student learning and engagement. </li><li>Contribute to effective communication and collaboration within the Junior School. </li><li>Contribute to maintaining academic standards and student behaviour as set out in College policies and expectations of teaching staff. </li><li>Ensure that programs and registers are maintained for all KLAs and are documented in a timely manner. </li><li>Contribute to the College publications and marketing requirements </li><li>Plan and implement creative and well sequenced teaching and learning programs that engage and challenge students, promote learning and have high expectations. </li><li>Use a range of teaching strategies to deliver quality teaching that engages and challenges students. </li><li>Be responsive to student learning styles by differentiating teaching and learning delivery. </li><li>Demonstrate a passion for and experience in assisting students to achieve learning outcomes to the best of their ability. </li><li>Use continuous assessment and constructive feedback to inform teaching practices personally and within the department. </li><li>Work collaboratively within the faculty and across all support systems in the College for the benefit of student learning. </li><li>Engage in constructive, positive, meaningful, and opportune communication with parents / carers in a timely manner. </li><li>Prepare regular and meaningful feedback to students and write constructive, positive student reports that reflect a deep understanding of the student and their learning continuum. </li><li>Share knowledge and resources to ensure best practice within the Junior School and across the College’s professional learning community. </li><li>Attend and participate in College functions such as but not limited to College performances, Assemblies, Sports Carnivals, Parent/Teacher Interviews, Information Sessions. </li></ul><h4>KEY CHALLENGES</h4><div><br /></div><ul><li>Endeavour to ensure that students and their families are provided with a positive and productive start to school and formal education. </li><li>Have high expectations for each student and ensure that they feel heard and are extended. </li><li>Maintaining records as required for NESA Registration and Accreditation process. </li><li>Inspiring students to promote a love of learning </li><li>Managing time effectively. </li><li>Sensitive handling of parental expectations. </li></ul><div><br /></div><h4>WORKPLACE HEALTH &amp; SAFETY </h4><div><br /></div><div>Contribute to maintaining the Health and Safety of all. </div><div>Comply with the College’s Child Protection Policy. </div><div>Comply with The McDonald College’s established policies and practices. </div><div>Support the additional needs of Stage 1 students in maintaining safe practices. </div><div><br /></div><h4>ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR ALL ROLES AT THE COLLEGE </h4><div><br /></div><ul><li>A current Working With Children Check (WWCC). </li><li>Evidence of a double COVID-19 vaccination. </li><li>The names and telephone contact numbers of a minimum of two (2) professional referees, one must be your latest school employer. </li><li>You must advise the Principal prior to employment of any matter that would affect your employment or the reputation of the College. </li></ul><div>?
