The Head of Secondary School is a member of the Leadership Team. This role covers a wide scope of opportunities to lead and requires commitment to continuous improvement. The successful applicant will model and promote excellence, maintain effective organisational and coordination skills, manage student behaviour aligned with the restorative practices of the College, and be a practicing Christian.

<p>This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled, relational, innovative, and experienced education leader committed to making a significant contribution to the life, education, and culture at Portside Christian College. Portside Christian College is committed to high academic standards, restorative practices and curriculum based on an Understanding by Design framework using a biblical perspective. </p><p>The Head of Secondary School is a member of the Leadership Team and responsible to the Principal through the Deputy Principal (Secondary). This role covers a wide scope of opportunities to lead and requires commitment to continuous improvement. The successful applicant will model and promote excellence, maintain effective organisational and coordination skills, manage student behaviour aligned with the restorative practices of the College, and be a practicing Christian. </p><p>In collaboration with a team who promotes the academic, social, and spiritual growth of students, the Head of Secondary School will strongly support student progress along with the ongoing review of student wellbeing and educational programs to maximise student learning outcomes. </p><p>This role requires a high-level capacity to foster positive relationships with staff, students, and families, and promote a safe and caring school environment that prioritises learning and achievement. A commitment to innovation, collaboration, and school improvement processes while part of a team is essential. </p><p>The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in leading and managing in a Secondary School setting. A teaching allocation is part of the role. </p><p>To be successful, you will need demonstrated experience in: </p><p>• Leading teams and teamwork </p><p>• Modelling and promoting excellent teaching practice from a Christian perspective </p><p>• Collaborative planning and teaching </p><p>• Managing day to day school operations efficiently </p><p>• Supporting and participating in the development of Professional Learning Communities </p><p>• Supporting implementation of teaching and learning initiatives </p><p>• Managing student behaviour using Restorative Practices </p><p>• Facilitating student Leadership Programs </p><p>• Building and maintaining positive relationships with staff, students, and parents </p><p>• Showing initiative and being proactive and positive </p><p>• Developing a positive and engaged culture in a Secondary school setting </p><p><br /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
