LEADER OF LEARNING & TEACHING: MATHEMATICS P-6

<p>Lumen Christi Catholic Primary School, Point Cook is seeking applications for a dynamic and experienced Leader of Learning and Teaching: Mathematics P-6. The successful applicant is offered a full-time, ongoing teaching position. All Leader of Learning and Teaching positions are linked to the school Improvement Plan. </p><p>The current Lumen Christi School Improvement plan (2017-2021) will be reviewed in 2022 and it is envisaged that the successful Leader of Learning &amp; Teaching Mathematics P-6 will use the 2022 school year to assist in the review process and work with the review Team to help plan and develop the direction of the next School Improvement Plan (2022-2025), with particular emphasis on the learning area of Numeracy. </p><p>The role of Leader of Learning &amp; Teaching: Mathematics P-6 is to plan strategically for continual school improvement in Numeracy. The Leader of Learning &amp; Teaching: Mathematics P-6 will lead the school’s implementation of the P–6 Numeracy approach, in collaboration with their teacher teams to enable substantial curriculum development in Mathematics teaching and student Numeracy growth. </p><p>The successful applicant will be a skilled classroom practitioner, familiar with the Victorian Curriculum, who is able to collaborate with others as part of a team, working towards improving learning outcomes for all students in their care. A passion for teaching and an understanding of learning in a contemporary environment is essential. </p><p><b>Key Objectives: </b></p><p>Work with the School Leadership Team to develop and realise measurable school improvement goals in Mathematics. </p><p>Increase student achievement and engagement in Mathematics. </p><p>Collaborate with teaching staff to design, develop and implement High Impact Teaching Strategies in contemporary Numeracy practices in keeping with the School Improvement Plan. </p><p> </p><p>Role within Leadership Team: The Leader of Learning &amp; Teaching: Mathematics P-6 will report to the Principal.</p><p> Both the Leader of Learning &amp; Teaching: Literacy P-6 and Leader of Learning &amp; Teaching: Mathematics P-6 key curriculum leadership roles will collaborate with the Principal, Deputy Principal, Leader of Learning &amp; Teaching: Curriculum P-6 to monitor school learning and teaching goals, accountability and responsibilities in the management and organisation of curriculum standards (including but not limited to intervention and extension) </p><p><br /></p><p><b>Areas of Responsibility: </b></p><p>As part of the Review process Leader of Learning &amp; Teaching: Mathematics P-6 will work with the core team at the school to develop a whole school approach to the promotion of Numeracy growth with a focus on ensuring high expectations and accountability, embedding a culture of continuous improvement and growth of professional knowledge and practice, whilst building positive relationships and effective communication across the whole school community. </p><p> </p><p>Core team consists of: Principal, Deputy Principals, Teaching &amp; Learning Leader, Literacy Leader, Mathematics Leader, Religious Education Leader, Wellbeing Leader and Learning Diversity Leaders. </p><p> </p><p>Our community is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care. </p><p><b>Special Requirements </b></p><p>The successful applicant should have: </p><p>• VIT Registration </p><p>• Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school </p><p>• Study and qualification in Mathematics that support application for this position</p><p>• Knowledge of PASA and Multiplicative Thinking an advantage</p><p>• Names and contact numbers, including mobile phone numbers, of 3 referees able to comment on your suitability for this role<br /></p><p><b>Application Procedures </b></p><p>1.
