Kindergarten to Year 6 serving the Dapto Parish with an enrolment of approximately 573 pupils.

<p>A permanent full time position with Catholic Education, Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW), however, the appointment to this position is anticipated to be a four-year appointment commencing 28 January 2022.&nbsp; After the completion of the four-year term, placement within a systemic school will be negotiated.</p> <p>The position consists of teaching a class of students who are on the autistic spectrum, coordinating the enrolment and transition of eligible students and supporting teachers in the mainstream with students with additional needs. The successful applicant would be responsible for creating a welcoming, safe and supportive environment conducive to meeting the particular learning needs of the students enrolled.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA</p> <ul> <li>Have qualifications to teach Religious Education or the willingness to undertake relevant study in this area according to the CEDoW General Terms of Employment.</li> <li>Be an active and committed Catholic or demonstrate a willingness to support the ethos of the Catholic school.</li> <li>Have Special Education qualification and/or experience teaching in a specialised setting.</li> <li>Have the capacity to lead quality teaching practice, based on the Diocesan Learning and Teaching Framework (<a href="http://www.dow.catholic.edu.au/">www.dow.catholic.edu.au</a> under policies) and to design and implement quality individual education programs, including differentiating learning, to meet the needs of students with disabilities.</li> <li>Demonstrate an ability to provide appropriate intervention to meet the learning needs of students on the autistic spectrum.</li> <li>Demonstrate well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, mentor and work collaboratively with all support staff, teachers in regular classes and from other schools, parents/carers and external agencies and the wider community.</li> <li>Have strong skills in the integration of Information and Communication Technologies for students with disability in the learning process.</li> <li>Demonstrate an understanding of positive behaviour approaches and an ability to develop and maintain a positive, innovative approach to support students with challenging behaviours.</li> <li>Show an ability to develop, implement and monitor quality personalised learning plans, including quality literacy and numeracy practices, that will enhance students’ ability to access the general curriculum.&nbsp;</li> <li>Be committed to ongoing personal and professional learning, formation and growth.</li> </ul> <p>DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA</p> <ul> <li>Show an understanding of Path to life: A Framework for Pastoral Care and Wellbeing (<a href="http://www.dow.catholic.edu.au/">www.dow.catholic.edu.au</a> under policies) based on the National Safe Schools Framework.</li> </ul> <p>WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</p> <p>This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.</p> <p>POSITION APPLICATION&nbsp;</p> <p>Applicants are to complete an online application which asks to briefly address the essential criteria (equivalent to 2-3 pages) and submit a short CV (2-3 pages).</p> <p>To submit your Application please select the 'Apply Now' button at the bottom of this advertisement.</p> <p><em>The Catholic Education Office is an agency of the Catholic Church called to stewardship and service in support of the system of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong.
