<p><b>Role Description</b></p><p>St Catherine of Siena Primary School is a collaborative, vibrant and dynamic Catholic school and we warmly welcome interest and applications, encouraging Learning Support Partners (LSP) of the highest calibre to join our staff team. </p><p>The LSP’s role involves working as part of a team with other LSP&#39;s, the Learning Diversity Leader and classroom teachers to provide support for students with diverse needs. </p><p>The successful applicant will support student learning under the direction of a teacher with individual and small groups of students both within and outside of the classroom to assist them with their educational and development programs. </p><p><b>We are in search of LSPs who are committed to: </b><br /></p><p></p><ul><li>Nurturing a faith community within a Catholic context. </li><li>The safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care. </li><li>Highly motivated, committed, positive, friendly and enthusiastic </li><li>Having a passion for working with children with diverse needs, having a belief that all children can learn and succeed. </li><li>Display effective communication and organisational skills and the ability to be flexible, proactive, and resourceful. </li><li>Working collaboratively with a variety of teachers and within a team. </li><li>Having some experience working with students who have a diverse range of needs. </li><li>Using initiative within the class environment to ensure optimal student support. </li><li>Communicating frequently and sensitively with families </li><li>Being able to work as part of teams of various sizes </li><li>Being self-motivated and able to work independently if necessary </li><li>Having the capacity to cater effectively for a diverse range of learning needs </li><li>Being able to build positive relationships with children and assist in creating learning environments where all are valued, engaged, and challenged </li><li>Demonstrating an understanding of child safety and the appropriate obligations and behaviours when engaging with students</li><li>Being committed to professional learning and ongoing improvement</li><li>Being able to embed daily documentation of what has been achieved within periods of time in line with NCCD requirements into the LSP role.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b>Key Selection Criteria:</b></p><p><u>1) The successful applicant will: </u></p><ul><li>have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education </li><li>have a demonstrated commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children </li><li>be passionate and have experience supporting primary students with a diverse range of needs. </li></ul><p><u>  2) The successful applicant will: </u></p><ul><li>possess the skills and abilities necessary to engage and empower students with a rich and rewarding learning experience. </li><li>Support and embrace a positive collegial, team-based approach to all students’ learning. </li></ul><p><u>  3) The successful candidate will: </u></p><ul><li>demonstrate the development of positive partnerships with parents and the wider community. </li><li>have a current Working with Children Check and a National Police Record Check. </li><li>have experience working with primary age children. </li><li>have completed a Certificate IV in Education Support or have completed one year of an undergraduate primary teaching course.</li></ul><p><br /></p>
