The College has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and outstanding Science Teacher to join us on a temporary full-time basis (Maternity Leave Contract) for 2022.

We are a vibrant community that values passionate and committed staff who actively support the College in its purpose as a Christ-centred community, seeking to develop extraordinary learners with a passion to serve others.<br /></p><p>The College is seeking an engaging, dynamic <b>Science Teacher</b> who is committed to delivering quality teaching and learning experiences that develop students as ‘extraordinary learners’. </p><p><b>Key Responsibilities </b></p><ul><li><b> </b>Deliver quality teaching and learning experiences for students that develop deep understanding through exploring the ‘big ideas’ inherent in and across subject areas </li><li>Build learning relationships through employing restorative practices </li><li>Display a commitment to continued professional growth through self-reflection and further learning </li></ul><p><b> Additional Responsibilities </b></p><ul><li>Deliver the Science curricula in a dynamic way in the classroom, using initiative in bringing fresh and creative ideas to the curriculum </li><li>Provide students with clear and fair assessment, including the provision of regular, meaningful feedback </li><li>Promote Science throughout the College via events and extra-curricular clubs </li><li>Teaching Stage 4 and 5 mandatory Science, as required </li><li>Preparedness to engage with the College’s pedagogical initiatives within the College Curriculum Framework</li><li>Prioritise safety in the classroom, including the preparation and communication of risk assessments with students </li><li>Show initiative in the integration of digital technologies into the learning program<br /></li><li>Uphold the Christian teachings of the College, encouraging students to serve others and explore Christ </li><li>Active participation in co-curricular activities, as well as fulfilment of other duty of care responsibilities as directed by the College </li></ul><p> </p><p><b>Skills / Knowledge / Attributes</b></p><p> </p><ul><li>Regularly practicing member of a Christian church </li><li>A comprehensive knowledge of mandatory Science subject syllabus and assessment strategies</li><li>Work ethic reflecting a commitment to excellence in teaching </li><li>Demonstrated passion for child-centred learning, and proven ability to effectively engage students, together with excellent classroom management skills </li><li>Preparedness to engage in open dialogue and debate on relevant scientific ideas </li><li>Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with other teachers, and work as part of a team </li><li>Excellent organisation and planning skills; must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities within strict deadlines </li></ul><p> </p><p><i>William Clarke College is a child safe workplace; all successful candidates will be subject to a Working with Children Check prior to commencement.</i><br /></p><p> </p><p>Applications for this role closes <b><i>Monday, 27 September 2021</i></b></p>
