The College is seeking to employ a (3pt) Director of Wellbeing to lead a dedicated Pastoral Care team. The Director will have an integral role in the College’s leadership team and in the holistic development and engagement of students and staff. This position is a permanent/ongoing full-time, commencing January 2022.

<p>The Director role requires a leader with an active commitment and witness to Catholic life and practice, as well as to the evangelising and educational Mission of the Church. Responsible to the Principal/Assistant Principal, the Director will lead Year Coordinators and engage support services in the pastoral care of students in all aspects of their school life: academic, spiritual, physical, social and emotional. As a result, they must be proactive in their response to change and model, promote and explicitly advance socially responsible behaviour and Gospel values. The Director will lead and work collaboratively with students, staff and parents in the formation of academic wellbeing plans and in providing feedback in relation to students’ current and future learning. They must have the capacity to facilitate initiatives that support the development of wellbeing, learning and culture, as well as give strategic direction to pastoral care programs, reporting processes, behaviour management procedures, key areas of the College’s Strategic Plans and the development of a safe and supportive learning environment. The role calls for leadership in the day to day support of student wellbeing and implementation of wellbeing policies, procedures and resources supporting students and staff.</p><p><b>Essential Criteria</b>: </p><p>* A commitment to Catholic Education and ethos and a willingness to support the faith formation of students. </p><p>* Demonstrated experience as an effective teacher and leader of wellbeing, with a proven capacity toward helping students learn and grow towards a full humanity.</p><p>* An applied understanding of the Marist Pillar of Presence and the need to care holistically for young people through accompaniment.</p><p>* Able to work collaboratively and in consultation with the College Leadership team to build a sustainable culture that supports and guides the wellbeing of students. </p><p>* Applied knowledge of the SCS Student Wellbeing Policy and Be You Framework. </p><p>* Well-developed interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to effectively communicate with parents, students and staff and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.</p>
