St Clare’s is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced teacher for the leadership position of House Dean. This role attracts a 2 point remuneration and time allocation.

<p>St Clare’s is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced teacher for the leadership position of House Dean. This role attracts a 2 point remuneration and time allocation. This is a permanent ongoing position, commencing Term 1 2022.</p><p><b>About the role:</b><br /></p><p>As a member of the Wellbeing Team, the House Dean shares the responsibility for leadership of the vision, mission and strategic priorities and contributes to the life and management of the College. The House Dean is a delegated responsibility by the Principal for leadership in the Pastoral, Wellbeing and Learning dimension, which incorporates a House system with vertical homerooms. This role also involves the responsibility of a House and specific year group of students along with a pastoral team. The House Dean works with the College Leadership, Heads of Department and Wellbeing teams within a professional learning community context to enhance the academic wellbeing of all students.   </p><p>As a member of St Clare&#39;s College, the role requires a commitment to supporting a positive religious and cultural Catholic school environment for young women in the Franciscan tradition. In line with the College&#39;s Vision for Learning, it is expected that the successful applicant will be committed to educating young women, promoting personal excellence, serving all peoples and recognising God in all creation. </p><p><b>The successful applicant will:</b></p><ul><li>Demonstrate a commitment to the ethos of the Catholic school.</li><li>Show highly developed skills in leadership.</li><li>Be an innovative educator who is future-focused and has a passion for working collaboratively.</li><li>Collaborate with staff and parents to meet the wellbeing, pastoral and learning needs of students. </li><li>Be an active listener with excellent communication, verbal and written skills.</li><li>Highly skilled in interpersonal relationships with students, staff and parents. </li><li>Use of creative and innovative teaching practice to provide a rich environment that caters for diversity which in turn will meet the needs of all students.</li><li>Be able to successfully integrate technology into everyday learning and planning.</li><li>Have highly effective administrative and organisational skills.</li></ul><p><b>Essential Criteria:</b></p><ul><li>At least five years teaching experience in more than one school.</li></ul><p><b>Desirable:</b></p><ul><li>Experience in middle leadership as a year or house coordinator.</li><li>Experience in utilising Positive Education frameworks for wellbeing.</li><li>Stage 6 teaching experience within HSIE, English or RE key learning areas.</li></ul><div><br /></div><div>Applicants should complete the St Clare’s College Teaching Application Forma attached and forward it with a covering letter, full CV, including transcripts of qualifications and the names and telephone numbers of at least three referees should be addressed to The Principal.
