School leaders within the Diocese of Parramatta are responsible to the Principal and share in leading the learning and teaching within the school. They are responsible for leading and supporting the delivery of high quality personalised learning and teaching embedded in the Catholic worldview. This work is a collaborative ministry of witness and service as part of the evangelising mission of the Church.

<p>We are seeking an <strong>experienced Instructional Coach</strong>, or a <strong>co-ordinator with extensive experience in the leading of literacy and numeracy</strong> in their school,&nbsp; to join our amazing team at Holy Spirit Primary, St Clair.&nbsp;</p> <p>The role will include a <strong>temporary three-year appointment as Instructional Leader (two-point co-ordinator role)</strong>, as well as an ongoing permanent classroom teaching role.</p> <p>The Instructional Coach will:</p> <ul> <li>be an active member of the school's leadership team;</li> <li>clarify expectations for classroom practice, informed by system-wide, evidence-based best practice;</li> <li>build the capacity of teachers to design and deliver differentiated learning that is accessible and rigorous for all students, applying CEDP’s Response To Intervention framework;</li> <li>provide in-situ support to teachers through modelling, co-teaching, co-planning, observing, co-evaluating and supporting teachers to develop adaptive and reflective practice;</li> <li>work alongside teachers and leaders in analysing “big” and “small” data sets to assist in informing point of need instruction for student and teacher learning;</li> <li>collaboratively lead whole-school professional learning in literacy and numeracy;</li> <li>develop a culture of learning that builds capacity to deepen insight and meaning; and</li> <li>be&nbsp;a willing learner who contributes to their own and others’ learning.</li> <li>understand that their fundamental task is to evaluate the impact of teaching on student learning;</li> <li>interpret successes and failures in student learning as directly related to the actions of teachers and leaders;</li> <li>see themselves as change agents;</li> <li>approach assessment as feedback about their impact;</li> <li>understand the importance of dialogue and listening to student and teacher voices;</li> <li>set challenging tasks for themselves and for teachers in order to maximise student learning outcomes;</li> <li>welcome errors and share learning from their own missteps;</li> <li>organise and collate assessment data.</li> <li>create safe and high-trust environments in which teachers and students can confidently learn from their errors .</li> </ul> <p>Typical Experience and Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Accredited tertiary qualification in education or degree in a specific discipline with a graduate degree in teaching&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrated success as an Instructional Leader or a co-ordinator with extensive experience in leading literacy and numeracy</li> <li>Experience with intervention strategies across literacy and/or numeracy (eg, R3, EMU, TLP)</li> <li>Capacity to work collaboratively, collegially and co-operatively with other professionals to improve practice</li> <li>Working with Children Check</li> <li>Australian resident or citizen</li> </ul> <p>The Organisation</p> <p dir="ltr">Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">This position involves working with children.
