</p><p>Wahroonga Preparatory School (WPS) is a co-educational primary school for Pre-K to Year 6 students that is a campus of Knox Grammar School. WPS students are nurtured, educated and cared for by highly skilled academic, support and operational staff.</p><p><br /></p><p>
</p><p><b>ROLE PURPOSE
</b></p><p>The School Psychologist of WPS will sensitively establish trusting connections and a reputation as a reliable, composed, kind and wise source of wellbeing advice and interventions. They will enjoy excellent collegiality, professional development and supervision as part of the large Psychologist Team located across Knox’s other campuses.
</p><p>This position is located at the WPS campus and is fixed term part-time 0.4FTE, 2 days per week (preferably Tue and Thu), starting in Term 1, 2022 and concluding at the end of Term 4, 2022, with possibility of a permanent position at the conclusion of the fixed term.
</p><p>The School Psychologist will optimize the wellbeing of students through:</p><ul><li>Triage, counselling, referral and case management<br /></li><li>Individual child therapy
</li><li>Family/parenting counselling
</li><li>Assessment and identification of needs of individuals and groups
</li><li>Providing professional advice to staff and parents.
</li><li>Case conceptualisation</li></ul><p><b>Essential Criteria</b></p><ul><li>Experience counselling children aged 4-12 using evidence-based interventions (mandatory)
</li><li>Current Professional Psychologist Registration (AHPRA) (mandatory)
</li><li>Experience counselling in a school or educational Setting
</li><li>Experience providing parenting interventions/support or Family Therapy
</li><li>Chinese language competence, or experience working with NESB students and families</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>
