Oakhill College seeks an innovative and highly skilled permanent HSIE Teacher to join our community.

<p>Oakhill College is an Independent Catholic Secondary School conducted in the Lasallian tradition, with an enrolment of 1,800 students, boys Years 7 to 10, co-educational in Years 11 and 12. The College is located in Castle Hill, NSW, and offers a wide range of subject choices and extra-curricular activities.</p><p>Applications are invited from suitably qualified teachers for the following permanent position:<br /></p><p><b>HSIE Teacher <br /></b></p><p><b>Permanent full-time position<br /></b></p><p><b>Commencing January 2022</b><br /></p><p>Oakhill College seeks to appoint an innovative and skilled HSIE teacher with excellent communication skills and classroom experience. The successful applicant will have knowledge of current developments in teaching and learning and a passion and enthusiasm for teaching. <br /></p><p>The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate knowledge of, and experience in, a combination of the subjects and areas listed below: <br /></p><p><b>Key duties and responsibilities </b><br /></p><p>Proven experience teaching various HSIE subjects across Stages 4- 6;<br /></p><ul><li>Ability to teach Legal Studies and/or Society &amp; Culture; </li><li>Ability to teach History, Geography and/or Religion in Stages 4 &amp; 5 is preferred;</li><li>Planning and implementing effective teaching and learning strategies;</li><li>Assessing, providing feedback, and reporting on student learning;</li><li>Developing teaching programs across all stages is preferred however not essential;</li><li>Ability to implement new syllabi;</li><li>Managing student behaviour;</li><li>Thorough knowledge of current pedagogy.</li></ul><p><b>The successful applicant will:</b><br /></p><ul><li>Demonstrate a clear understanding and commitment to the Mission of the Catholic School;<br /></li><li>Be supportive of the Lasallian ethos of the College;</li><li>Adhere to the Colleges Safeguarding Standards and Child Protection policies and procedures;</li><li>Be an experienced, innovative, and engaging team member;</li><li>Teach with excellence, professionalism, and commitment;</li><li>Have an ability to relate to girls and boys with practical knowledge of boy’s education issues and initiatives in the foundation years (Stage 4 and 5);</li><li>Be committed to professional growth and development of excellence.</li></ul><p>Oakhill College is committed to innovative high-quality teaching and learning and offers excellent facilities and resources.
