<p dir="ltr">Magdalene Catholic College is a coeducational systemic high school in the Macarthur region within the Diocese of Wollongong. The College provides quality Catholic education, based around values of discipleship and service, quality relationships, love of learning and personal best. Magdalene Catholic College is well known for its focus on excellence and the development of the whole person spiritually, physically, culturally and academically. With a growing student population (currently 1095 students), the College enters its twenty-third year in 2021.</p> <p>A permanent full time position commencing 28 January 2022. The successful applicant will be required to lead a team of committed professionals in the VET&nbsp;faculty.&nbsp;&nbsp;There is flexibility in terms of required subject specialties but the successful applicant will need to be able to teach a range of TAS (Stages 4-6) and VET (Stage 6) courses.</p> <p>The role of Middle Leader exists to support the principal in implementing the vision and mission of the school, to support growth in faith and improvement in learning for students and assist the school leadership team in the conduct and organisation of the school.</p> <p dir="ltr">ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA</p> <p dir="ltr">The preferred applicant demonstrates the following criteria:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">Has a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.</li> <li dir="ltr">Demonstrates a commitment to academic excellence and a sound knowledge of contemporary approaches to pedagogy including the nature of assessment and differentiated learning.</li> <li dir="ltr">Builds a learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth, informed by data.</li> <li dir="ltr">Displays an ability to lead learning and foster innovation and creativity in a collaborative environment.</li> <li dir="ltr">Has a comprehensive understanding of NESA requirements and a proven ability to implement effective teaching programs.</li> <li dir="ltr">Knowledge and understanding of requirements of all courses across the VET KLA.</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">Aptitude and willingness to contribute to the broader life of Magdalene Catholic College whilst leading and supporting the VET/TAS faculties and what they offer the College.</li> <li dir="ltr">Experience teaching one or more VET/TAS subjects to Stage 6 level would be advantageous.</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">The following GENERAL CAPABILITIES are applicable to the role:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">Well-developed interpersonal skills.</li> <li dir="ltr">Well-developed oral and written communication skills.</li> <li dir="ltr">Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.</li> <li dir="ltr">Strong organisational skills.</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">Appropriate qualifications for teaching VET &amp; TAS courses to HSC Level.</li> <li dir="ltr">Level C Accreditation aligned &nbsp;in accordance with to ‘Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong’ policy or a commitment to gain within the first contractual period.</li> <li dir="ltr">NESA Accreditation at Proficient Teacher level or above.</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</p> <p dir="ltr">This role is classified as a child related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.</p> <p>POSITION APPLICATION&nbsp;</p> <p>Applicants are to complete an online application which asks to briefly address the essential criteria (equivalent to 2-3 pages) and submit a short CV (2-3 pages).</p> <p dir="ltr">To confidentially discuss your Application please call Mr Matthew McMahon, Principal on 4631 3300.</p> <p>To submit your Application please select the 'Apply Now' button at the bottom of this advertisement.</p> <p><strong>Closing date: 22 September 2021 at 3pm</strong></p>
