Highly regarded for our pastoral care, academic, sporting, music and cultural programs, we educate women who will work towards positive social change. </p><p>Our vision, to offer a Catholic education that liberates, empowers and motivates students, is supported by a strategic direction that incorporates the belief that staff are the most valuable and critical asset of the School. </p><p><br /></p><p><b>The position </b></p><p>The Payroll Officer is responsible for the processing payroll, remitting payroll on-costs and government reporting as well as preparing monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll statements. </p><p>Your key tasks &amp; responsibilities will include the following areas; </p><ul><li>Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently </li><li>Collecting, calculating, and entering data in order to maintain and update payroll information </li><li>Compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages and reporting on this </li><li>Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income, social security taxes, employer&#39;s social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments </li><li>Resolving payroll discrepancies </li><li>Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures </li><li>Developing ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed </li><li>Maintain staff details in relevant databases e.g. Micropay CEVN; including leave and other details </li><li>Maintain all casuals within Clipboard </li><li>As required perform reconciliations of ledger accounts to verify payments and ensure correct allocation of payments to facilitate accurate financial reporting</li><li>Complete statutory deadlines are met before the required due date e.g. WEGA, Workcover Remuneration; CEVN staff census </li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b>About you </b></p><p>To be successful in this position, not only is it essential that you have the skills and expertise, you must also have the willingness to immerse yourself within the school community and truly become part of the team. </p><p>In addition, you will have the following skill set; </p><ul><li>A qualification in Business/Accounting or equivalent, would be beneficial </li><li>Proven experience in payroll </li><li>Demonstrated experience in establishing and fostering relationships </li><li>Experience working in a complex, highly regulated environment </li><li>A high degree of professionalism and discretion with confidential information and privacy is required </li><li>Exceptional analytical accuracy and attention to detail </li><li>Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines </li><li>Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence outcomes. </li><li>Excellent time management and organisational skills </li><li>The ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision </li><li>Able to work and contribute in a team environment</li><li>High level of competency in Microsoft Suite, particularly excel </li><li>Experience with Micropay would be advantageous </li><li>Knowledge of HRIS systems and platforms, such as Clipboard and Connx, highly valuable, however not essential </li></ul><p>A current National Criminal Record Check and Working with Children&#39;s Check (employee) are essential requirements for this role.
