Catholic Education Services, Diocese of Cairns is seeking applications for a Consultant - Literacy & Numeracy (Primary) to join their team in January 2022. This is a fixed term position (3 Years) that holds a substantive permanent Teaching position within the Cairns Diocese.

<p></p><p><b>Position Details</b></p><ul><li>Fixed-term position (3 Years) </li><li>38 hours per week </li><li>Commencement Date: 17 January 2022</li><li>Salary Range - $119,880 to $133,193 gross per annum</li><li>Option for monthly RDO</li><li>Applications close 5pm, Friday 8 January 2021</li></ul><p><i>The position holds full-time permanent teaching position within the Diocese </i></p><p><b>Purpose of the Role</b><br /></p><p>This position calls for a highly experienced educator with enthusiasm and commitment to work in a challenging and rewarding role, providing Catholic educational leadership for learning and teaching services through coordination, advocacy, representation and delivery of services to support the Mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Cairns.</p><p>It is intended that the Consultant will: </p><ul><li>Work intensively with a portfolio of schools, drawing on expertise and currency of practice to build high quality curriculum and pedagogical practices, focusing on the System Improvement Plan.</li><li>Operate with a key focus on supporting schools to develop and execute on appropriate areas of the System Improvement Plan (SIP) and the School Annual Improvement Plans (SAIP). The focus of the work will be predominantly on Literacy or Numeracy as determined by the SIP focus and the school SAIP in that order of priority.</li><li>Also engage with school leaders and teachers to collaboratively build capability in line with the Performance Growth in Action Plan (PGiAP) process.</li><li>Promote contemporary principles of effective Literacy and Numeracy learning and teaching whilst working with school personnel on enhancing teacher capacity and therefore student outcomes. The Consultant Literacy and Numeracy works at all levels of the curriculum process from supporting whole school Literacy and Numeracy programs to coaching and supporting classroom teachers.</li><li>Aim at improving student Literacy and Numeracy through the implementation of a whole school approach and teaching strategies that provide positive learning experiences so that all students achieve success.</li></ul><p>The Consultant performs the role cognisant of and in harmony with the vision, mission and values of Catholic Education in the Cairns Diocese. The role holder is a staff member of Cairns Catholic Education Services and contributes to the culture and work in a spirit of collaboration and subsidiarity.</p><p>Discretion, judgment and consultation are required in planning professional functions related to services, operations and processes. Duties are performed under the general guidance of the Director Learning and Teaching in collaboration with schools and other Catholic Education staff as required.</p><p>The role holder has co-responsibility and co-accountability to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes for all students in our Catholic schools and colleges in the Diocese. One of the key purposes of the role is to build the capacity of staff in CES, schools and colleges.</p><p><b>Mandatory Qualifications &amp; Requirements</b> </p><p>The role holder will have:</p><ul><li>A demonstrated commitment to the objectives, vision and ethos of Catholic Education. </li><li>Demonstrated leadership experience and effectiveness in the development of effective literacy and numeracy practices.</li><li>A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, working towards or willingness to commence. </li><li>A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the primary context. </li><li>An ability to build positive relationships within professional learning networks that affect improvement in learning.</li><li>A demonstrated knowledge and commitment to integrating contemporary learning principles and practices. </li><li>Ability to work across a range of educational contexts. </li><li>A current Queensland College of Teachers Registration or the ability to obtain such. </li><li>A current motor vehicle driver’s license and be able to travel within and outside the diocese. </li><li>A demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels of the school community. </li><li>A demonstrated commitment to maintaining child safety at all times. </li><li>Promote child safety at all times.</li></ul><p><b>How to Apply </b></p>Please visit <a href="" rel="nofollow"><b></b></a> for further information about working with Cairns Catholic Education, or download the <a href="" rel="nofollow"><b>Application Pack</b></a>.<p></p><p></p><p><b>Applications close: 5pm, Friday 24 September 2021</b></p><p><b><i>Catholic Education is an equal opportunity employer. </i></b></p><p><b><i>Intending applicants must be fully committed to creating and maintaining a child safe organisation.</i></b></p><p></p>
