<p>The Head of School Improvement - Primary, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for this temporary part time position as an EAL/D Teacher at Holy Family Catholic Parish Primary School, Ingleburn commencing 28 January 2022 until 20 December 2022.</p> <p>POSITION DESCRIPTION</p> <p>This position sits within the School Improvement Services Primary Team (SIS), the position requires significant experience in curriculum and capacity to support EAL/D students within Primary Schools. This role is part of a wider EAL/D team and as such the EAL/D Teacher will be required to:</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>collaborate with the School Leadership Team and CEDoW EAL/D Officers.</li> <li>work within the EAL/D school team to implement the EAL/D Management Plan responsibilities.</li> <li>design and facilitate professional learning opportunities to build teacher capacity.</li> <li>coordinate and facilitate the collection of student work samples and assessment data.</li> <li>support EAL/D students’ learning needs through a range of pedagogical processes including collaborative planning, co-teaching with classroom teachers and the design of student learning plans</li> </ul> <p>ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.</li> <li>A well-articulated understanding and application of student centred, quality EAL/D pedagogical practices that are grounded in current evidence-based research.</li> <li>The ability to identify EAL/D student needs and plan interventions K-6.</li> <li>Apply expert knowledge of the diverse needs of students of EAL/D to support their full participation in learning.</li> <li>Facilitate the analysis of student work samples using the ACARA EAL/D Learning Progressions (and/or The ESL Scales) to direct teaching and learning.</li> <li>Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.</li> <li>Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider school community.</li> </ul> <p>GENERAL CAPABILITIES</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Well-developed interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Well-developed oral and written communication skills.</li> <li>Strong organisational skills.</li> <li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.</li> </ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>University TESOL training or a willingness to undertake such training.</li> <li>Accredited Level B to teach Religious Education in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.</li> <li>The applicant must be accredited with NESA to teach in NSW.</li> </ul> <p>WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</p> <p>This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.</p> <p>POSITION APPLICATION&nbsp;</p> <p>Applicants are to complete an online application which asks to briefly address the essential criteria (equivalent to 2-3 pages) and submit a short CV (2-3 pages).</p> <p>To submit your application please select the 'Apply Now' button at the bottom of this advertisement.</p> <p>To confidentially discuss your application contact Kay Blundell, Senior Professional Officer - School Improvement Services - Primary, on (02) 4253 0980.</p> <p><em>The Catholic Education Office is an agency of the Church called to stewardship and service in support of the System of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong.
