We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and committed Year 1/2 teacher who is passionate about play-based learning in the junior years and is willing to develop or extend their knowledge of the Walker Learning Approach. The position is a maternity leave position and is for someone seeking to develop their teaching skills and knowledge in a dynamic and progressive school environment.

<p>St Raphael&#39;s Catholic Primary School offers a progressive, engaging and comprehensive curriculum using a personalised approach to learning and teaching.</p><p>We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and committed Year 1/2 teacher who is passionate about play-based learning in the junior years and is willing to develop or extend their knowledge of the Walker Learning Approach. The successful applicant must be prepared to impart/develop their knowledge and skills to successfully implement a play-based learning environment.</p><p>The school ethos is built around high expectations and a commitment to excellence. There is an expectation that every student will learn and achieve positive outcomes.</p><p>In order to realise the school’s personalised approach to learning and teaching we follow the Walker Learning Approach and seek to employ a creative, dynamic and enthusiastic homeroom teacher who has excellent time management skills, good work ethic and must be able to work collaboratively in a flexible, collegial team environment.</p><p>The teaching staff of the school are experts in the fields in which they teach and have very high levels of pedagogical knowledge and skill, including expert knowledge of evidence-based teaching strategies.</p><p>Differentiation is a priority of the school and a feature of every teacher’s practice. </p><p>The successful candidate must be able to communicate and work effectively with colleagues, children and the parent community. Our school prides itself on collaboration and collegiality between staff and team members and the successful applicant must be prepared to work on a daily basis in shared flexible learning spaces as one of four Year 1/2 homeroom teachers.</p><p>We seek a teacher who has a deep understanding of current pedagogical practice, has an excellent understanding of the Victorian curriculum and can analyse and can use data to inform their teaching practice.</p><p>This school community is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care and all applicants must hold a current VIT registration.
