St Joseph's College, Lochinvar is seeking to appoint a permanent full time (release 0.2 FTE &amp; coordinator allowance 2 points) Leader of Learning - PDHPE to join the school community commencing in Term 1, 2022. St Joseph’s College, founded by the Sisters of St Joseph in 1883 is a co-educational secondary school providing a rich and diverse educational experience for 960 students from Years 7 to 12. Located in the stunning Hunter Valley, St Joseph’s has a blend of heritage and modern buildings which include a Chapel &amp; Heritage Centre, new Administration and Resource Centre, a purpose-built hall and associated Café &amp; Hospitality Centre, well equipped, modern Technology/Trade Centre as well as refurbished Performance and Creative Arts spaces and contemporary learning spaces. <p> Leaders of Learning work in collaboration with the school leadership team and colleagues to promote the school as a place of learning and excellence in accordance with contemporary evidence-based learning principles. Within their faculty they will: <br>• ensure the highest standards of teaching practice <br>• lead and support the ongoing development, implementation and oversight of quality teaching programs and learning outcomes <br>• have deep understanding and expertise in the relevant KLA curriculum requirements <br>• establish a culture of collaborative and reflective practice <br>• support individuals in identifying new experiences for their continual professional development <br>• know their students and strive to provide engaging learning that supports student wellbeing. The Leader of Learning PDHPE is a member of the School’s Leadership Team, which comprises the Executive Team - Principal, Assistant Principal (s), Leader of Ministry and Leader of College Administration, together with those in designated middle leadership roles or roles that have a strategic intent. As a member of the Leadership Team, the Leader of Learning PDHPE will offer assistance and support in the: <br>• promotion of the Catholic ethos of the school <br>• promotion of the Josephite Charism of the College <br>• promotion of an effective and diverse co-curricular program to support student wellbeing and engagement <br>• implementation of the school’s policies and procedures <br>•promotion of the hospitality, accessibility and visibility of the Leadership Team The Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, preventing those in our care from suffering abuse or neglect. Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools ? The applicant should have a four-year trained teacher classification with at least four years successful teaching experience consistent with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers ? Demonstrated success in creating and leading effective professional learning and building the capacity of teachers as leaders in learning ? Demonstrated management and administrative skills to ensure assessment, and teaching and learning programs operate effectively and efficiently and reflect NESA requirements ? Demonstrated ability to organise, initiate and drive change and ensure a culture of continuous improvement ? Demonstrated capacity to think and act strategically; to exercise sound judgement; and to support the Leadership Team in leading the mission of the school ? Demonstrated ability to effectively utilise data to optimise organisational and educational outcomes ? High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to develop and sustain constructive and respectful relationships within and beyond the school community ? Willingness to comply with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy. Category C – Accreditation for Leadership The applicant must provide evidence of the following: ? Four-year trained teacher classification ? NESA Teacher Accreditation ? Working with Children Clearance number ? Completion of anaphylaxis training </p> <h3>Desirable Criteria:</h3> <p> ? Experience teaching PDHPE 7-12 ? Prior leadership experience ? Postgraduate study in education (e.g. Master of leadership, educational leadership, IT, Curriculum) ? Working towards Highly Accomplished or Lead Teaching Standards </p> <h3>Renumeration:</h3> <p> Salary is in accordance with New South Wales &amp; Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020.
