Grace has a highly regarded and active Co-curricular Performing Arts program within Grace Academy, and is currently seeking a Guitar Music Instructor on a fixed term basis, supported by our Director and administrative support staff.

<p><b>Summary Statement: </b>Grace has a highly regarded and active Co-curricular Performing Arts program within Grace Academy, and is currently seeking a Guitar Music Instructor on a fixed term basis, supported by our Director and administrative support staff.</p><p><b>Responsible to:</b> Head of Strings </p><p><b>Position type: </b>Fixed Term, Part Time 5-week contract from 3 August 2021 to 6 September 2021 (approximately 28 hrs per week)</p><p> </p><p><b>Anticipated Commencement Date:</b> Tuesday 3 August 2021 </p><p><b>Qualifications, Certifications and Work-related Experience: </b></p><ul><li>Formal qualifications at tertiary level, relevant to the position; </li><li>Current drivers licence (C class) and own transport; </li><li>Ability to teach in group &amp; private tuition contexts; </li><li>Ability to teach in primary &amp; secondary school contexts; </li><li>Experience of running small ensembles; </li><li>Experience in working with different age groups, confidence and flexibility in delivering content; </li><li>Dynamic and energetic teaching which is engaging and is based on building excellent learning in the program; </li><li>Ability to work and plan for diverse classrooms of students of mixed ability and special needs; </li><li>Experience with music technology and audio equipment preferred; </li><li>Availability within the school day with some out-of-hours duties; </li><li>Willingness to attend and contribute to out of hour’s concerts and events in which the students are involved in.</li></ul><p><b>Important:</b> All positions vacant advertised on the Grace Lutheran College website require the applicant to address (in writing) specific Selection Criteria that are of particular relevance to the position advertised. </p><p><b>SELECTION CRITERIA common to all Instrumental Music positions: </b></p><p><b>1. Demonstrated skills needed to support the College’s Grace Academy program. </p><p><b> 3. Interpersonal Skills: </b>Demonstrated personal and interpersonal skills that enhance positive relationships with all members of the community. Demonstrated ability to develop warm, caring relationships with students while maintaining a positive, focused learning environment. An understanding of the particular needs of young people and demonstrated skills in meeting these needs in the context of music lessons and ensemble activities. Demonstrated willingness to work with a team leader and the supporting team to achieve the outcomes required; combining personal specialist skills with those of the team to achieve collaborative outcomes where a team approach is necessary. Very good communication skills; in the first instance verbal and very good written skills where required. </p><p><b> </b></p><p><b>4. Service Focus: </b>Evidence of a clear service focus; ability to meet deadlines, prioritize competing work demands and provide a high quality level of service to the people of the College and the wider community. <br /></p><p><b>5. Initiative and Flexibility: </b>Demonstrated levels of initiative, efficiency, perseverance and flexibility necessary to contribute to a learning community which values teamwork and the achievement of excellent outcomes at all levels of the organization. </p><p><b>6. Collaborative Leadership Skills: </b>Personal qualities such as confidence, flexibility, initiative, perseverance and resourcefulness necessary to contribute to a learning community which values teamwork and interdependence. </p><p><b>7. Personal Development: </b>Evidence of a personal commitment to continuous self-evaluation and lifelong learning. </p><p><b>8.
