PRIMARY LOTE TEACHER The College is looking for a Primary teacher that can teach French. The successful applicant will be able to teach French from Kindy to Year 6, one day a week to commence Term 3, 2021.

<p>The successful applicant will have the following skills: </p><p>· Develop the language programme across all Stages, including scope and sequence and assessments </p><p>· Possess a good grasp of the English language </p><p>· Be able to teach the French language </p><p>· Be competent in teaching in Primary</p><p>· Good communication skills </p><p>· Work well in a team environment </p><p>· Know their subject content </p><p>· Good IT skills to implement Technologies in learning </p><p>· Skills in managing student behaviour and discipline quickly, fairly and respectfully</p><p>· Encourage selection of languages as an elective in Years 9 and 11 </p><p>· Demonstrate the capacity to apply effective strategies for teaching students with special education needs and students with challenging behaviour </p><p>· Implement content-rich, teaching activities and programs relevant to each Stage </p><p>· Manage student behaviour through purposeful and worthwhile learning activities </p><p> </p><p>The role will involve, but is not limited to: </p><p>· scheduled teaching</p><p>· lesson preparation and programming</p><p>· assessment</p><p>· reporting</p><p>· professional development</p><p>· collegial support, e.g the mentoring of trainee and beginning teachers</p><p>· playground duties</p><p>· attendance at parent-teacher meetings</p><p>· participation in the usual co-curricular activities of the school </p><p>· Communicate respectfully with parents </p><p>· Develop engaging and challenging resources across all stages </p><p>· Promote language performances at events and assemblies </p><p>· Being a part of organising College events, assemblies relevant to LOTE.</p><p>· Design and implement coherent, well-structured lessons that engage students and enhance student learning outcomes </p><p>· Select, develop and use a variety of appropriate resources and materials that engage students and support their learning </p><p> </p><p>Teachers are also expected to comply with all reasonable directions given by a supervisor or principal and adhere to guidelines concerning the performance of their duties.</p>
