<p>St John's College Woodlawn is a co-educational Catholic Secondary College situated in a charming rural setting 5km from Lismore and just over half an hour from Ballina and Byron Bay. The current enrolments are around 750.</p>

<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">Must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent (must provide proof)</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">Must hold a current Working with Children Check clearance</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">An understanding of and willingness to effectively support the Catholic ethos and values of the College</span></li>

<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt"><strong>Selection Criteria will focus on:</strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">Previous experience working in a voluntary or paid capacity in a secondary school across a number of curriculum areas</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">Sound level of written, verbal communication and numeracy skills and knowledge and appreciation of the ways students learn</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">Sound knowledge of Indigenous history and culture and ability to lead cultural groups</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">Sound ICT competency and r</span><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">elevant qualifications / training </span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">Preparedness to work as a member of a team with small groups of children and willingness to work alongside teachers in the classroom</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">The ability to work discretely and supportively with families of students, teachers and other school staff members.</span></li>

<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt">The Indigenous Education Worker will also act as a role model for students by encouraging them to take pride in all aspects of their schooling.</span></p>
