Grace Lutheran Primary School is seeking to employ the service of an experienced, qualified and enthusiastic Accountant

<p> Grace Lutheran Primary School is a vibrant and well-established Prep to Year 6 co-educational, independent Christian School of over 400 students located at Clontarf in the Moreton Bay region of South-East Queensland. </p><p>The School was established in 1971 to provide an educational environment where Christ is central, excellence is pursued and relationships are valued. The School currently operates an Outside School Hours Care and will operate an Early Learning Centre as from early 2022. </p><p>Grace Lutheran Primary School is seeking to employ the service of an experienced, qualified and enthusiastic Accountant to: </p><p>• Assist and support the Business Manager in the financial administrations and financial responsibilities of the School and associated entities. </p><p>• ensure effective and robust financial management of the School and associated entities. </p><p>• prepare and maintain financial budgets and adhere to best practice, policies and legislation. </p><p>• develop strong financial structures and internal controls which support the mission and vision of the School and associated entities. </p><p>• continually develop capacity and capability to improve systems, internal controls and sustainability of the School and associated entities. </p><p>This role provides an opportunity to learn and grow in the areas of financial, operations, human resource, business administration, compliance and workplace health and safety. This position offers lots of variety and an opportunity to provide strong financial and management accounting knowledge and analytical expertise to support the School’s and associated entities strategic plan to ensure effective administration and day-to-day management. </p><p>The Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the School including preparation of end-of-month financial and management reports, annual budgets, end of the year audits, preparation of statutory and government returns and the provision of financial analysis. The Accountant will oversee and manage the financial operations of the Outside School Hours Care and Early Learning Centre. This role is responsible for the workplace health and safety (WHS) compliance and risks management. The Accountant will work closely with the Business Manager to implement the financial plans, policies and strategies required for the effective management of financial resources and operations.</p><p><b>The successful candidate will have</b>: </p><p>• Relevant tertiary qualifications – Bachelor of Accounting/Commerce/Finance/Business. </p><p>• CPA or CA qualified (or working towards). </p><p>• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Accountant in financial and management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis. </p><p>• Operational skills in finance, taxation, operations, facility management and compliance (including WHS) including the ability to interpret legislation, regulations, awards and funding agreements. </p><p>• Exceptional personal standards of honesty, integrity, can-do attitude and professionalism. </p><p>• Proven ability to be flexible, reliable and adapt to change rapidly. </p><p>• Highly refined communications skills, both written and verbal. </p><p>• Excellent attention to details and takes pride in their work. </p><p>• A willingness to contribute as an effective and productive team player with minimum supervision. </p><p>• A heart and a passion to be involved and engaged in the life of the School. </p><p>• Exposure in an education setting and/or not for profit sector. </p><p>• A current valid Positive Blue Card.</p><p><br /></p><p> </p><p><b><u>Selection Criteria </u></b></p><p>1. A desire to contribute proactively to a workplace that glorifies God and edifies others. </p><p>2. Relevant tertiary qualifications - including CPA or CA (or working towards) and proven experience commensurate with the role being offered. </p><p>3. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and high level of proficiency using accounting and School Management System (TASS). </p><p>4. Proven ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with others, and build and maintain strong, successful relationships across different levels. </p><p>5. Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills with the ability to problem solve and generate solutions to problems systematically. </p><p>6. Strong financial acumen including developing and managing budgets, business unit performance, complex analysis and forecasting. </p><p>7. Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with others to achieve organisational goals and strategies. </p><p>8. Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise multiple needs and demands, and take initiative to meet critical deadlines. </p><p>9. Excellent attention to detail with a proactive and can-do attitude. </p><p>10. Experience in developing and delivering system and process improvement including service excellence, with a positive attitude to change, new ideas and innovation. </p><p><br /></p><p><b>Applications must include the following: </b></p><p>1.
