Accountant / Deputy Business Manager

Prince of Peace Lutheran College is seeking a dynamic, capable and committed individual to coordinate the College’s business operations, finance and compliance systems.
<h4><br /></h4><p>Prince of Peace Lutheran College is a K-12 co-educational, independent, Christian school located at Everton Hills in the north-western suburbs of Brisbane. The College was established by the Prince of Peace Lutheran Congregation in 1984 to provide quality Christian education to the children of the community.<br /></p><p>Prince of Peace Lutheran College offers classes on two sites from Kindergarten to Year 12 with approximately 815 students enrolled. The Junior Campus (K-6) is located at Rogers Parade West. The Senior Campus, 1 km away at Henderson Road, was opened in July 2009 and is currently home to Years 7-12.<br /></p><p>******************************<br /></p><p>A newly created role, this is an exciting opportunity to work in a growing College and be an integral part of a vibrant learning community. This is a unique chance to develop leadership, financial, compliance, human resource and administrative skills as well as prepare for a future senior leadership role.<br /></p><p>
</p><ul><li>The successful applicant will be able to intuitively relate to others, while at the same time implement transparent processes that are designed to ensure the long-term operation of the College. There will be a requirement to clearly demonstrate the ability to be relational, while being able to set high standards of professionalism and drive organisational and behavioural change.<br /></li><li>A demonstration of being able to balance routine work requirements with strategy-based projects, and aspire to continually develop capacity and capability is a necessity.
</li><li>This role requires a total focus on providing timely support and building positive relationships with all members of the College Community with the ability to show a genuine passion for education and strengthening the business operations of a Christian, community focussed organisation.
</li><li>Working under the supervision of the College Business Manager, the role involves daily supervision of Business Office staff.
</li><li>This is a full-time permanent role (38 hours per week). Flexibility with hours is essential including evening and weekend work from time to time.
</li><li>A current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle is a necessity.

</u></i></b></p><p> SC1 Tertiary level qualifications and relevant experience as per the position description<br /></p><p> SC2 Demonstrate a high level of proficiency and efficiency using a computerised accounting system and ability to leverage technology for automation/efficiency and process improvement<br /></p><p> SC3 A professional approach with a strong ability to be relational with all community members<br /></p><p> SC4 Explanation of ability to engage with education staff around finance and administration practices<br /></p><p> SC5 Strong analytical and problem solving skills<br /></p><p> SC6 Demonstrate an ability to work in a team contributing to team effectiveness<br /></p><p> SC7 Excellent attention to detail, initiative, planning and organisational skills, to be able to prioritise and meet deadlines<br /></p><p> SC8 Hold a current Positive Notice Blue Card<br /></p><p>Enquiries to the Business Manager regarding this role are welcome and can be made, confidentially, by phoning 3872 5700.<br /></p><p><b><i>Applications must include the following :</i></b><br /></p><ol><li>Covering letter (maximum 1 page)
