Applications are invited for a part time chaplain at Nazareth School, Grovedale. Nazareth has a commitment to child safety, a Catholic ethos and the intent to place students at the centre of all we do. We are a dynamic and innovative school who strive to make a difference in the lives of the children we teach. The position is a fixed term contract for 1.5 years, beginning July 2021.

<p>The chaplain plays an integral part in the holistic approach to education at Nazareth School. It is one which is supportive to staff, students and parents and is part of a multidisciplinary approach to student achievement at Nazareth School. The role of Nazareth’s chaplain is crucial to the Student Support Services Team. Days are negotiable.<br /></p><p><b><i>The role is inclusive of:</i></b></p><ul><li>Description of Skills and Qualifications in the Chaplaincy role, including a minimum qualification of a Certificate IV in Chaplaincy, Certificate IV in Youth Work or Certificate IV in Pastoral Care (or equivalent). </li><li>Demonstrated capacity to assist teaching staff with planned and/or immediate adjustments that purposefully support, manage and enhance the welfare and wellbeing of all students, inclusive of their ability, cultural background and religious background.</li><li>Demonstrated capacity to work with staff on whole school initiatives collaboratively, demonstrating effective organisational, interpersonal and communication skills in line with the School Annual Action Plan and the Disabilities Standards for Education.</li><li>Demonstrated capacity to assist students in managing/building personal and social skills to enable success at school, including in the playground through organising playtime activities and coordination of social skills programs</li><li>Demonstrated capacity to assist students, who may be experiencing grief, trauma, and change, either acute or chronic, through such programs as ‘Seasons for Growth’</li><li>Demonstrated capacity to support families experiencing hardship/dysfunction by liaising between the School and home, and by working as part of a comprehensive learning support team to link families to external agencies</li></ul><p><b><i>Salary Level</i></b></p><p>The salary range for the advertised position would be between ESB 3/1 - 3/6 of the VCEMEA 2018</p><p><b><i>To apply</i></b></p><p>Please provide a letter of application, resume and names of at least two referees to Mrs Marcelle Wrigley, mwrigley&#64;nsgrovedale.catholic.edu.au</p><p><br /></p>
