Mannix College seeks to appoint an innovative, relational and strategic Principal to guide the College through its next stage. This person will be a: - Strategic and visionary professional with experience in residential Colleges - Relational leader with exceptional team building and interpersonal skills

<p>Located in Melbourne’s south eastern suburb of Clayton, Mannix College is the only residential College at Monash University. The College opened to accept its first intake of Monash students in 1969, becoming co-educational in 1974. Grounded in the Catholic tradition, the two pillars of the Mannix Ethos, Dignity and Love, are applicable to individuals of all beliefs and reflects the College’s open access policy. Mannix is a vibrant and supportive academic community where residents are encouraged to participate in and contribute to the life of the College actively and local community more broadly. </p><p>Mannix College enables residents to get the most out of their Monash University education, offering a combination of intellectual independence, support for academic excellence, and social development through involvement in the Mannix College Students’ Society, participation in a wide range of sporting, community and cultural activities and the formation of life-long friendships. Mass is held regularly at the College Chapel, which is available at all times for prayer and quiet contemplation. In this way the College aims to be a visible and active presence of the Catholic Church at Monash University. </p><p>The College motto, Omnia Omnibus (the personal motto of Archbishop Mannix) translates as “All things to all people”. Mannix College has accommodated equal numbers of men and women students from diverse backgrounds, largely representing students who have moved from rural and regional Victoria to study at Monash University. </p><p>The College Council invites applications from experienced leaders with a commitment to Higher Education and an inspiring vision for developing leaders of the future. </p><p>Commencing at the start of 2022, or by negotiation, the successful candidate will be a motivated, relational, and dynamic leader with a commitment to the values and charism of the Mannix College mission, ready to lead the College into the next phase of development. This person should possess: </p><ul><li>A passion for working with young people and developing future leaders </li><li>Operational expertise, able to implement sustainable change </li><li>An understanding of the current health, wellbeing, social and spiritual needs of young university students. </li></ul><p>The appointee will have a demonstrated ability to deliver strategic outcomes collaboratively, and be able to: </p><ul><li>Lead, promote and demonstrate the values of Mannix College </li><li>Develop and articulate a compelling strategic vision for the College which anticipates the future needs of residents and staff </li><li>Articulate and promote the benefits of high quality residential services </li><li>Demonstrate a high level of engagement in tertiary education, with thorough knowledge of developments at international, national, and state levels </li><li>Develop and lead high performance teams and create a positive workplace culture </li><li>Demonstrate an understanding of all elements of College leadership, that is required to successfully manage finances, risk, communications, human resources and facilities </li><li>Empower staff and students to engage actively with the College community and Monash University through effective relationships and stakeholder management </li><li>Develop a sustainable culture of philanthropy and community partnerships </li></ul><p>Mannix College community promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all. </p><p>The Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne is committed to the safety, wellbeing and dignity of all children and vulnerable adults.
