This role exists to support Catholic schools in the Diocese of Wagga Wagga, to provide a welcoming and safe place for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and their children. As the school is located on Wiradjuri Country, in accordance with our tradition, the term Aboriginal will be used to refer to both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, parents and carers. The Aboriginal School and Community Worker [ASCW] will engage in opportunities which support the learning, pastoral and spiritual wellbeing of Aboriginal students, their families and community. Communication with Aboriginal families, school personnel and forming partnerships with local Aboriginal organisations and Elders is essential.

<p>12 July 2021 to 29 January 2024.</p><p>Job share will be considered.</p><p>Days and Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm </p><p>The position will be worked in the following schools:</p><ul><li>Mater Dei Catholic College, Wagga Wagga</li><li>Mater Dei Primary School, Wagga Wagga</li><li>St Joseph&#39;s Primary School, Wagga Wagga</li></ul><p><b>Essential Requirements </b></p><p>1. Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and be able to engage and connect with Aboriginal Elders and local community organisations. </p><p>2. Supportive of the purpose, vision and values of Catholic Education. </p><p>3. The ability to work independently, supportively and collaboratively with all community members. </p><p>4. Effective communications skills in a variety of settings. </p><p>5.
