<p><b>The College</b></p><p>Faith Lutheran College is a co-educational Secondary school situated within the expanding rural community of Plainland, mid-way between Ipswich and Toowoomba in South-East Queensland. <br /></p><p>The College provides educational opportunities for students from Year 7 to Year 12, and is purpose-built to cater for the educational needs of students across the Lockyer Valley and Greater Western Brisbane regions.  Our campus footprint encompasses 70 acres of land, and boasts an extensive range of facilities, designed to support a diverse curriculum of teaching and learning.<br /></p><p>The College&#39;s vision is to become a truly innovative and contemporary educational institution that will lead the way forward for a new way of learning.<br /></p><p><br /></p><p><b>The opportunity</b><br /></p><p>The Director of Teaching and Learning is a key senior leadership position with a 5-year contract, 0.2 FTE teaching load and competitively remunerated at a level commensurate with the successful applicant&#39;s experience, organisational achievements and qualifications.  The role will commence in January 2022.<br /></p><p>This role is intentionally strategic in nature and designed to have oversight and leadership of all activities relating to teaching and learning in the College.  In this role, you will be responsible for driving educational change in the College.<br /></p><p>You will lead a team of multi-disciplinary specialists.  The team has been designed to support the Director of Teaching and Learning to ensure that focus remains on strategy rather than day to day actions.  Furthermore, the College has designed this middle leadership team to be focused on 21st century skills and student agency rather than key subject areas.<br /></p><p><br /></p><p><b>Selection Criteria</b><br /></p><p>The following critera will be used by the selection panel when short-listing candidates:<br /></p><ul><li>Committed to the Christian faith and registered, or the ability to be registered, as a teacher through the Queensland College of Teachers<br /></li><li>Demonstrated leadership capacity to realise the strategic vision and intentions of the College</li><li>Comprehensive understanding of current educational research and trends to support contemporary learning</li><li>Comprehensive understanding of the Australian Curriculum and the expectations and requirements of governing bodies such as the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA)</li><li>Demonstrated high level conceptual, analytical and planning skills</li><li>Excellent ability to present formally and informally to a variety of audiences in a range of settings</li><li>Demonstrated capacity to be an empathetic listener, an engaging and persuasive speaker and a diplomatic communicator with strong written communication skills</li><li>Demonstrated ability to engage parents, students and the broader community in such a way that enhances the College&#39;s reputation</li><li>An ability to manage programs and resources on time and within budget</li></ul><p>Please view the full candidate information pack, including the Position Description at: </p><p><a href="https://faithlc.qld.edu.au/careers/dtl/" rel="nofollow">https://faithlc.qld.edu.au/careers/dtl/</a><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><b>How to apply</b><br /></p><p>Please submit your application and include:<br /></p><ul><li>Covering letter<br /></li><li>Curriculum Vitae</li><li>Contact details for two professional referees</li></ul><p><b>Applications for this position must be received by 5.00pm (AEST) on Friday 25 June 2021</b>.<br /></p>
