We are seeking to employ a new Literacy Leader in a 0.8 capacity.

<p>An exciting opportunity exists to be part of our vibrant learning community here at St. Dominic’s School Broadmeadows. We are seeking to employ a Literacy Leader to join our dynamic and dedicated team to support the learning needs of all students in our richly diverse and compassionate Catholic community. </p><p>This position is 0.8 to be worked Monday-Thursday and the successful applicant will become part of the School Leadership Team. This position is advertised as a three-year appointment. </p><p>Applicants must be able to demonstrate: </p><p>- Authentic leadership skills and an enthusiasm and willingness to work collaboratively in a team based environment to engage all staff and students in learning </p><p>- A strong understanding of the instructional teaching skills and pedagogy required to support teachers in improving student outcomes in reading, writing, spelling and oral language development </p><p>- An understanding of contemporary practices in the teaching and learning of literacy skill acquisition and development </p><p>- Knowledge and understanding of how data is used to guide teaching and learning practices </p><p>- An awareness of how the English as an Additional Language (EAL) Curriculum is used as a pathway to support language learning and connectivity to all areas of the curriculum </p><p>- A passion for working with students from diverse backgrounds and EAL communities </p><p>- Support of the Catholic faith and Catholic Identity of the school. </p><p>St. Dominic’s is a Child Safe School and is committed to the ongoing safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care. </p><p>Special requirements- </p><p>- Current VIT registration </p><p>- Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school is advantageous. </p><p>Applicants are asked to send their application letter, curriculum vitae and the details of three referees to the Principal via Teachers on Net.</p><p>If you require any further information about this position, please do not hesitate to contact Alison Bretag, School Principal.<br /></p><p> </p>
