As such, we invite applications for the role of Diversity teacher from forward thinking and open minded professionals who wish to join the St Luke’s adventure.</p> <p dir="ltr">The Learning Community</p> <p dir="ltr">Having commenced in 2017 with 86 students across Kindergarten to Year 6, St Luke’s at Marsden Park is a next generation learning community within the Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta (CEDP). As a ‘next generation Catholic Learning Community’ we are designing and establishing the ‘new normal’ for preschool to post school learning in an environment characterised by a flexible, stage based curriculum which nurtures and grows faith-filled, curious children to become creative contributors and innovative problem solvers for a changing world. Our current enrolment is 1210 students from Kindergarten to Year 10 in addition to the 59 place long day centre which commenced in February, 2018.</p> <p dir="ltr">The Role</p> <p dir="ltr">The Diversity Teacher is an adaptive expert who works alongside leaders and teachers in a variety of modes to share their knowledge, understanding and expertise. The Diversity Teacher works with the Diversity Leader to ensure that diversity perspectives are incorporated into all aspects of school life. The Diversity Teacher:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Promotes meaningful and age appropriate learning for all students.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Maintain safe and inclusive learning environments and implement fair and equitable behaviour management plans.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Interpret assessment data to diagnose learning challenges and then develop responsive plans to enable learning.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Assists the Diversity Leader/Coordinator in determining an appropriate specialist teaching mode* (*Reading Recovery, Third Wave reading intervention, and EMU Specialist program have a defined mode of delivery).</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Works collaboratively to plan and implement school programs with a diversity perspective.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Assists the classroom teacher in identifying and prioritising vulnerable students.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Collaboratively develop student profiles and personalised learning plans for vulnerable students.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Works with classroom teachers to map and monitor the progress of vulnerable students.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Assists and supports Case Management processes and implements strategies which derives from them.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Models inclusive teaching practices in order to build the capacity of classroom teachers.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Works collaboratively within the learning space to build the capacity of students to participate and succeed in regular classroom activities.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Assists with the delivery of professional learning opportunities for all staff in their field of expertise.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Perform specific tasks as directed by the principal or their delegate.</p> </li> </ul> <p><br>Please Note: The Diversity Teacher is a resource for the whole school community. It is desirable that they have:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">extensive experience as a classroom teacher.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">qualifications in inclusive education.
