Catherine McAuley Catholic College is seeking a permanent part-time School Officer – Student Services (30 hours/week) to commece ASAP. Commencing in 2021 with Years 7 & 8, the newly established Catherine McAuley Catholic College is expected to grow annually to a Years 7-12 Learning Community in 2025. Medowie is only 34km from the Newcastle CBD and within an hour’s drive to the stunning Hunter Valley area.

<p> The role, School Officer – Student Services exists to provide: <br>• fulltime reception in Student Services and liaison with students, staff, families and relevant agencies <br>• a reception service for phone and direct contact externally to and within the school <br>• general office administration including maintaining student records, typing and preparation of documents, ordering of school requisites and administrative support for staff <br>• support to the school principal The Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle has an abiding commitment to promote the safety, welfare and wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults - particularly those who participate in the life of the Diocese. All employees are required to undergo a National Police Check and, where legislated, hold a Working with Children Check. All employees are required to undergo a National Police Check, retain a valid NSW Working with Children Check and ensure compliance with our safeguarding policies, the Diocesan Safeguarding Commitment Statement and the Code’s of Conduct. </p> <h3>Essential Criteria:</h3> <p> • support the ethos of Catholic education <br>• provision of administrative support to the College Leadership Team (including Heads of Houses, Leaders of Wellbeing &amp; Leaders of Learning) <br>• provision of administrative support to governance &amp; compliance requirements and governance processes i.e. WHS, Safeguarding, NESA <br>• daily maintenance of student attendance and associated administrative tasks <br>• warm &amp; welcoming manner as the first point of contact for students <br>• a clear understanding of Microsoft Office Suite <br>• team oriented with strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills <br>• ability to work in an environment with competing demands where tasks need to be prioritised <br>• current Working With Children number must be recorded on your application <br>• applicants will need to comply with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead (formerly FEA ) and will need to work towards Accreditation at Category A – Accreditation to work. </p> <h3>Desirable Criteria:</h3> <p> • First Aid Certification would be advantageous but not essential. </p> <h3>Renumeration:</h3> <p> Salary is in accordance with New South Wales &amp; Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020. </p> <h3>Additional Info:</h3> <p> To apply: Please provide a cover letter (maximum 3 pages) addressing the selection criteria along with your resume and directly to College Principal – Scott Donohoe: scott.donohoe@mn.catholic.edu.au.
