We are seeking a strong Health Care Professional to take on the role of School Nurse to Support Students from Early Learning Years to Year 12.

We are seeking a strong Health Care Professional to take on the role of School Nurse to Support Students from Early Learning Years to Year 12.</p><p>The role of School Nurse is to provide excellent nursing and health care services to the students, including boarders and day girls and the school community. In addition, the School Nurse must ensure that the practice of the Health Services department is compliant with professional and legal requirements. The position will be part of a team of three tending to the needs of students on a daily basis. </p><p>The position is a part-time position working 20 hours per week between 10am - 2pm. Immediate start.</p><p>The key responsibilities of the position include (but are not limited to) working with the relevant pastoral care team to:</p><ul><li>Assist with the running of the Health Centre. </li><li>Manage the physical care of all students’ and staff health who may become ill or injured during school hours.</li><li>Care for ill or injured boarders who are admitted to the Health Centre, notification to parents and boarding house staff.</li><li>Develop and implement health care plans.</li><li>Promote and assist in control of communicable diseases through preventative Immunisation programmes, early detection, surveillance and reporting of contagious Diseases.</li><li>Comply with documentation, legislative and policy requirements.</li><li>Liaise with parents where required.</li><li>Liaise with the local medical centre who cater for our boarders.</li><li>Provide information and training to staff when required.</li><li>Ensure school medical records are up-to-date</li><li>Manage the dispensing of medication to students and boarding houses as required. </li><li>Manage and maintain appropriate accurate medical, health, accident and incident reports/records.</li></ul><p>We are looking for a Nurse who:</p><ul><li>is a registered general trained nurse with a current practising certificate. </li><li>has a minimum of five year&#39;s general nursing experience.</li><li>holds a current accredited first aid certificate.</li><li>has excellent organizational skills, good time management and effective administrative and record management skills.</li><li>demonstrate a kind, caring and empathetic nature.</li><li>will keep up-to-date about contemporary health issues affecting Kambala girls.</li><li>possesses school experience (highly desirable)</li><li>possesses postgraduate qualifications in adolescent health, maternal and child health or similar (highly desirable).</li><li>has a commitment to ongoing professional learning.</li><li>will support the co-curricular and pastoral care programs at the school.</li><li>will actively support the ethos of this Anglican Independent School.</li></ul><p>The successful applicant will need to supply a current Working with Children Check Number or Application Number.</p><p>Please note that only candidates successful in progressing to the interview stage will be contacted.</p><p><i>Applications should include the names of at least two referees, an up-to-date curriculum vitae and covering letter.</i></p>
