<p><b>ABOUT US</b></p><p>Super Speak is an award winning public speaking &amp; drama program that has helped over 50,000 children aged 6-14 develop greater confidence, communication skills and creativity since 2006. Join our fun team of teachers and management who deliver the program across 15 Melbourne venues each week and online to children across Australia.<br /></p><p><b>AREA MANAGER ROLE<br /></b></p><p>Due to growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a passionate &amp; experienced teacher in either drama, speech and drama, primary education or performing arts to join our team as an Area Manager.<br /></p><p>This management position is <b>full time</b> or <b>0.7 permanent part time</b> (whatever suits the candidate) and offers potential to develop &amp; grow into more senior positions over time with Super Speak.</p><p>As Area Manager, you will report to the principal and be responsible for either our South/East Melbourne territory or our North/West Melbourne territory. Each territory typically has between 500-700 students attending each week.<br /></p><p>Time is split between attending &amp; managing venues and teachers across your territory and working from our office.</p><p>The work itself is diverse and exciting with many days differing from the next. You will be hands-on in an entrepreneurial sense, and have a real impact on how the program is delivered without the bureaucracy that may sometimes be seen in schools. Our teachers and area managers enjoy the pleasures of being creative &amp; delivering a great educational program without the additional student assessments, family liaisons and long nights of marking that can be sometimes experienced in schools.</p><p><b>The role consists of:<br /></b></p><ul><li>Venue &amp; class operational management<br /></li><li>Teacher management</li><li>Office support &amp; general administration</li><li>Enrolment management</li><li>Teacher &amp; parent communication</li><li>Teaching</li><li>Curriculum development</li></ul><p><b>WHO YOU ARE</b></p><p>You have gravitated toward education because you believe in the power it has to positively affect the lives of young people.<br /></p><p>You may be any of the below:<br /></p><ul><li>a primary teacher or secondary teacher at a school seeking a change away from the schooling system into a more entrepreneurial, hands-on and practical role<br /></li><li>a drama or performing arts teacher seeking an exciting next chapter in your life</li><li>someone with a natural aptitude for teaching with experience attending drama, performing arts or speech &amp; drama classes through your teen years; or<br /></li><li>an experienced office manager with a natural aptitude &amp; interest in teaching; or</li></ul><p>You must have flexibility with when you work each week to reflect the needs of your territory. For example, for weeks that you need to be at your venues, you will spend more time attending your venues in the afternoon/evenings and will work less time in the office. For other weeks when your venues &amp; teachers are settled, you will spend more time in the office during business hours and less time at the venues. You will be comfortable being “hands-on” to ensure your territory is operating smoothly and that your teachers are well supported. You will travel between your venues within your territory as required.</p><p>Please only apply if you can commit with a view to work at least 3 years in such a role (or longer).</p><p><b>YOU HAVE:<br /></b></p><ul><li>a fun, professional nature and able to relate well to children and parents</li><li>excellent verbal communication skills, organizational skills and a “can do” attitude</li><li>teaching experience, or a natural ability and passion for teaching</li><li>a current Work With Children Check card or a VIT registration</li><li>a reliable car &amp; driver’s license</li><li>a proficiency in Microsoft word &amp; emails</li><li>a professional phone manner</li><li>It is desirable but not essential for you to have a tertiary qualification (either arts, performance or teaching) or an equivalent professional experience or significant other training – ie. in speech &amp; drama, acting or drama schooling throughout teen years, etc.</li></ul><p><b>WE OFFER</b></p><ul><li>Attractive salary package reflecting your experience</li><li>A positive, friendly &amp; rewarding work environment.
