<p><b>About the school </b></p><p>Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Thamarrurr Catholic College is a remote Aboriginal school located in Wadeye 400 km South West of Darwin. The Kardu Diminin people are the traditional owners of the Wadeye country. There are over 20 clans from the surrounding Thamarrurr region residing in Wadeye and attending the school. The school operates a Family as First Teachers (FaFT) program, preschool, primary and secondary school. The majority of people in Wadeye speak Murrinhpatha as a first language. The school has been delivering bilingual education in Murrinhpatha and English for over 40 years. </p><p><b>About the role </b></p><p>We are seeking a Teacher - Linguist to work with local educators in supporting and further developing Murrinhpatha education in our bilingual school. </p><p>The role requires a strong background in linguistics and education and a knowledge of Australian Aboriginal languages. </p><p>Ideally the candidate would be a registered teacher but the school would consider applications from those with a linguistics background who do not hold a teaching qualification. </p><p><b>Benefits </b></p><p>Relocation coverage </p><p><b>Requirements </b></p><p>Candidates must be eligible to work in Australia and will be required to hold a current NT Working with Children Clearance notice (Ochre Card). </p><p>Please email your CV with three professional referees to Matthew Spring at matthew.spring&#64;nt.catholic.edu.au or phone 08 8978 2477 for further information. </p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>
