We are currently seeking an experienced School Counsellor for a part time position for our Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 students, commencing Term 2, 2021. The position is a Maternity Leave contract (Wed-Fri) until the end of Term 4 2021.

<p><b>General Responsibilities </b></p><p>The successful applicant will be a kind and considerate individual who is happy to work collaboratively and autonomously. They will possess an exemplary understanding of best practice and exhibit a deep commitment to and understanding of the factors that affect student learning. </p><p>You will report to the Head of School via both the Head of Primary and Head of Secondary and will be responsible for the provision of quality care and the wellbeing of our students in an environment that reflects the priorities and pillars of the school community.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>It is expected that the School Counsellor is an active member of the Wellbeing Team.</p><p>Therefore, the preferred candidate will be expected to demonstrate competence in, but are not limited to, the following duties:</p><p> </p><ul><li>Understand the mental health needs of children and young people </li><li>Support and implement the vision of our school </li><li>Implement and uphold the utmost strictest confidence </li><li>Engage in further professional development as part of continual learning </li><li>Support the priorities and pillars of our community &#39;Faith, Excellence and Respect&#39; </li><li>Abide by and comply with Child Protection and WHS policies </li><li>Demonstrate professional and ethical conduct at all times </li><li>Prepare and complete accurate records to communicate relevant information to teachers and other relevant stakeholders </li><li>Take an active interest in the wellbeing of our students </li></ul><p> </p><p><br /></p><p><b><i>Essential Skills and Knowledge </i></b></p><p> </p><ul><li>Must be a qualified Psychologist or Counsellor </li><li>Experience in counselling children and/or young people using evidence-based interventions </li><li>Experience in reporting on student progress and techniques (cognitive, emotional and behavioural assessment and reporting experience) </li><li>Have extensive experience working with children of all ages preferably within a schooling environment </li><li>Have a sound understanding of child protection legislation and adolescent care </li><li>Able to develop and maintain a positive rapport with students </li><li>Demonstrate implementation of program or activities and supply evidence of effective evaluation of said program or activities </li><li>Provide evidence of incorporating suitable aids and/or resources to counselling aid </li></ul><p><br /></p><p><i>To be considered for this opportunity, we kindly request that you submit the documentation listed below: </i></p><p> </p><ul><li>A current cover letter explaining how and why you would make a great addition to our team, </li><li>Your Curriculum Vitae, </li><li>Copies of your academic qualifications with transcript, and </li><li>Contact details for 2 referees.</li></ul><p>Please email these documents to Mrs Elfa Lillis, Head of School PK-12 at employment&#64;allsaints.nsw.edu.au. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>A full role description for this position can be requested from leannea&#64;allsaints.nsw.edu.au. </p><p>All Saints Grammar employees are paid under the Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational Staff) MEA 2017.</p><p><br /></p><p>Applications Close:     12 March 2021</p><p>Position commences: Term 2 2021 </p><p><br /></p>
