Key elements of the strategy focus on opportunities to reimagine learning that enables members of our school community to be creative, self-directed and critical thinkers, who are inspired to learn, whose natural inquisitiveness is nurtured and who strive for excellence.</p><p><br /></p><p><b>THE POSITION </b></p><p>The Tutor plays a key role in supporting student achievement in response to the disruption in learning that has occurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Working in collaboration with experienced Teachers, the tutors will support and coach students of the College to create opportunities for individual growth in knowledge and skills.</p><p><br /></p><p>The main elements of the role include but are not limited to;</p><ul><li>Utilising student data to implement learning programs</li><li>Working with students in small, targeted groups to encourage conceptual understanding of key mathematical skills</li><li>Build positive relationships to facilitate student learning in Mathematics</li><li>Supporting students to increase their levels of engagement, confidence and motivation</li><li>Monitor student progress and communicate with the classroom teacher, Numeracy Coordinator and other key College personnel</li><li>Other reasonable duties as directed</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b>WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR </b></p><p>The successful candidates will have an in-depth knowledge of Maths, having either taught or are currently studying in the discipline. They will love working both one on one and in small groups with students, displaying patience and understanding as they support student needs in the classroom. </p><p><br /></p><p>Proven experience required includes:</p><ul><li>VIT Registration or evidence of enrolment in an accredited Teacher Education University Course</li><li>Excellent communication skills and strong ability to work within a team</li><li>Proven proficiency in Mathematics from Year 7 through to VCE levels</li><li>Commitment to work in a highly professional manner</li><li>Understanding and/or appreciation of the principles of a Catholic community</li><li>Strong knowledge and understanding of Child Safety legislation and responsibilities<br /><br /></li></ul><p>Desirable experience includes:</p><ul><li>Experience with students with diverse learning needs</li><li>Current Victorian Driver’s License</li><li>Previous experience tutoring<br /><br /></li></ul><p>The successful candidate will have the relevant background checks conducted by the College and salary will be based upon the Victorian Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2018. </p><p><br /></p><p><i>Please note, any applications sent directly to a member of the College will not be accepted. </i><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><b>Applications close 9.00am Tuesday 9 March 2021</b></p><p><i><br /></i></p><p><i>Sacred Heart College Geelong actively promotes and highly values the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all students</i></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>
