Nurse / First Aid Officer

<p>We seek to appoint an experienced Registered Nurse to provide high quality nursing and health care services to students and the school community. The successful applicant will demonstrate highly developed generalist nursing, interpersonal, organisational and technology skills along with a passion for adolescent health care. Experience working within a school setting and in the areas of Emergency Nursing, Immunisation, Paediatrics, Adolescents and Diabetes Management would be advantageous. </p><p>The role is required to be performed predominantly during school term time only, for 38 hours per week, Monday – Friday, generally between the core hours of 8am – 4pm.</p><p><b>The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate: </b></p><p>• A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a qualified Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); </p><p>• Health Centre operations experience within a school environment or in a paediatric, adolescent or accident/emergency setting; </p><p>• Demonstrated provision of high-quality generalist nursing and health care services to adolescents; </p><p>• Proven ability to administer medications and maintain accurate records according to medical action plans and College policies; </p><p>• Proven experience liaising with parents and medical practitioners regarding student medical requirements, medical action plans or referral to a health care professional or hospital; </p><p>• Control of medicine, medical supplies and equipment management; </p><p>• Management of First Aid equipment and supplies; </p><p>• Maintenance of infection control standards; </p><p>• Demonstrated technological skills including the ability to work with different school management software and use of Microsoft Office applications; </p><p>• Current Senior First Aid Certificate or Advanced First Aid Certificate; </p><p>• Strong written and verbal communication skills; </p><p>• Ability to maintain confidentiality; </p><p>• Demonstrated initiative, effective time management and multi-tasking skills; </p><p>• Ability to work effectively, both autonomously and within a team; </p><p>• Ability to perform the physical work associated with First Aid, nursing and health care provision; </p><p>• Ability to manage emergency situations in a careful and responsive manner; </p><p>• Strong interpersonal skills; </p><p>• An understanding and interest in Adolescent Mental Health and Wellbeing. </p><p><b>The successful applicant will: </b></p><p>• Be available to work 38 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with the ability to be flexible when required; </p><p>• Have a minimum of five years RN experience; </p><p>• Demonstrate a clear understanding and commitment to the Mission of the Catholic School; </p><p>• Be supportive of the Lasallian ethos of the College. </p><p><br /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
