Sacred Heart is seeking a Chaplain/Pastoral Care Worker for a contract position commencing in Term 1, 2021, to support primary school students. Please note that this position is part time. The role is expected to be 12 hours per week for 2021. Additional hours as an education support officer may be available to the successful candidate, based on the needs of the school.

<p>The successful applicant will be required to work under the supervision of the Wellbeing Leader and Learning Diversity Leader to support the school in the pastoral care and spiritual wellbeing of students and staff. Pastoral care is the practice of promoting and enhancing student wellbeing of a personal, social, physical, emotional, mental or spiritual nature.<br /></p><p> </p><p>The successful applicant will have the ability to look after the personal needs of students, not just their academic needs, through the provision of general spiritual and personal advice. A chaplain/pastoral care worker engaged via the National Schools Chaplaincy Program (NSCP) may:<br /></p><p>• work as a member of the school’s wellbeing team, support the learning diversity leader and leadership team in the delivery of student wellbeing services </p><p>• contribute to improving student engagement and connectedness </p><p>• contribute to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment </p><p>• provide pastoral care and guidance to students </p><p>• operate within the school community and with external providers. </p><p>Sacred Heart has an active wellbeing team, headed by our Wellbeing Leader and Learning Diversity Leader. To find out more about how MACS handles personal information, you are encouraged to read the MACS Privacy Policy. </p><p>Sacred Heart has zero tolerance towards Child Abuse. </p><p><b>Qualifications and Experience </b></p><p>Recently Certificate 4 qualified graduates are welcome to apply. </p><p>Minimum qualification requirements are one of the following: </p><ul><li>Certificate IV in Youth Work </li><li>Certificate IV in Pastoral Care </li><li>Certificate IV in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care </li></ul><p>In addition: </p><ul><li>Current Police and Working With Children Check. </li></ul><p>Names and contact details (including mobile phone number) of at least 3 referees. If you have previously worked in a school the current/most recent Principal will be contacted in reference to your application, please include contact details. </p><p><b>Remuneration: </b></p><p>Salary is in line with the Victorian Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2018 for an Education Support Worker, category ESB2, in the range of levels 1 - 6, aligned with the successful candidates qualifications and experience. </p><p><b>Tenure: </b></p><p>Temporary contract position commencing immediately and finishing on Thursday 27th January 2022. Days and times are negotiable.
