<p>Catholic schools are established by the Church to support parents with their responsibility for the faith formation of their children. To this end, the Executive Director of Sydney Catholic Schools invites applications for the following leadership position:<br> <br> <strong>RELIGIOUS EDUCATION COORDINATOR</strong><br> <br> <strong>Location:</strong> St Patrick's Catholic Primary School, Sutherland<br> <strong>Commencement Date:</strong> 19 April 2021<br> <strong>Closing Date:</strong> 28 February 2021<br> <br> As a member of the school leadership team, the Religious Education Coordinator shares responsibility for the development of the Catholic life of the school, leadership of its vision, mission and strategic priorities and contribution to the management of the school. The Religious Education Coordinator has delegated responsibility for the coordination and supervision of teaching and learning in Religious Education. This position requires an outstanding educator with a well-developed capacity to take forward the evangelising mission of Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Sydney.<br> <br> <strong>ABOUT THE SCHOOL</strong><br> <br> St Patrick's Primary Sutherland is a Catholic systemic school within the Archdiocese of Sydney. Our mission is to help our students grow in Christ by integrating Catholic Values into the curriculum. The religious dimension of St Patrick's includes the Religious Education curriculum, the liturgical, sacramental and prayer life of the school and opportunities for students to engage in activities that build Christian community and reach out to those in need. We strive to achieve academic excellence by promoting the intellectual quality of each student and providing a contemporary learning environment that is relevant and assists each student in achieving his/her potential. There is an emphasis on the explicit teaching of Religious Education, Literacy and Mathematics. Explicit assessment is used to identify what students have learnt, those areas where further teaching and learning is required and for the purpose of reporting to parents. Students participate in a well-resourced Creative Arts program with a specialist art teacher who provides extension classes to students. St Patrick's students' artworks have been recognised at local, state and national level.
