<p>The Catholic Education Office in the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn (CECG) is seeking a highly experienced Chief Financial Officer to join its leadership team. You will be responsible for financial reporting and compliance for the group, providing strategic advice and financial leadership, and overseeing the planning, implementation, management and running of all finance activities for &nbsp;the corporate office and broad network of 21,000 students, 2,000 full time staff, 56 schools and 8 Early Learning Centres across NSW and ACT.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Reporting to the Director of CECG, and as part of the Service Area Leadership Team (SALT), the key responsibilities of this role include:</p> <ul> <li>Providing strategic support to the Director and SALT as requested to ensure strategic objectives are met.</li> <li>Advising on policies and strategies in relation to recurrent and capital funding policies for non-government schools of ACT, NSW and Commonwealth Governments, and other finance matters.</li> <li>Leading the planning, development and evaluation of capital and development programs including undertaking strategic planning related to urban development, new schools’ development, school extensions, and assessment of the impact of such proposals on local capital resources and recurrent operations.</li> <li>Leading, coaching, developing, and retaining a high-performance team with an emphasis on management accountability, best industry practice and a continuous learning culture.</li> <li>Collaborating and taking a key leadership role in working towards the strategic goals of the organisation, delivering quality advice to the Director of Catholic Education, School Leaders and Catholic Education Service Area Leadership Team through the application of high-level expertise within the CFO portfolio.</li> <li>Ensuring all financial and statutory reports are prepared in an accordance with accounting standards and statutory requirements in an accurate and timely manner.</li> <li>Developing resource distribution models and processes to ensure equitable needs-based allocation to schools of available resources.</li> <li>Leading both System and School budget application, allocation, and review noting risks, significant variations, issues for attentions, forecasts and recommendations for improved financial performance.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>To be successful in this role you will have:</p> <ul> <li>A proven track record as a transformative and strategic CFO</li> <li>Extensive knowledge of accounting practices and standards, gained through practical experience, qualification and personal development as well as relevant knowledge of Australian Taxation Requirements, Not-for-profit requirements, contemporary financial management systems and audit processes.</li> <li>Clearly demonstrated executive leadership experience within a medium to large organisation with complex legal, funding and compliance requirements.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in analysing problems to make insightful, timely decisions in difficult, highly complex situations, overcoming typical restraints of limited resources.</li> <li>Ability to effectively lead a team and influence key stakeholders to create a sense of commitment to organisational goals within a collaborative environment that draws on the strengths and expertise of all employees.</li> <li>Strong ability to conceptualise and work independently, with requisite levels of drive, dedication and vision to perform effectively as part of a senior leadership team.
