<div><br /></div><div>Applications are invited for the position of Science Laboratory Assistant. The role of Science Laboratory Assistant is to provide laboratory support to teachers and students in the Science department.</div><div><br /></div><div>The successful applicant will support the Science department in maintaining laboratory resources, and preparing equipment, chemicals and other resources for practical lessons in a secondary school environment. This role is not mainstream science lab work but rather a type of work which is unique to secondary school science labs.</div><div><br /></div><div>The position is temporary for 26 hours (4 days) per fortnight for six months commencing 27 January 2021 until 25 June 2021. Applicants should be available to work Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30am until 3:30pm.</div><div><br /></div> <p><b>Criteria:</b></p><ul><li>TAFE Laboratory Technician Qualifications or equivalent</li><li>ability to use discretion and judgement in working under general supervision and/or broad guidance to select equipment, organise work and services and achieve outcomes within time constraints</li><li>excellent organisational skills that would allow for the timely ordering of equipment and the preparation of apparatus and solutions</li><li>specific knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations involving hazardous chemicals and a range of quality control and maintenance skills are essential components of the position</li><li>ability of maintain a safe working environment</li><li>previous experience in a school setting</li><li>possess effective interpersonal skills<br /></li><li>be competent in using technology</li><li>effective communication skills both written and verbal</li><li>professional presentation</li><li>ability to work effectively within a team</li><li>commitment to the Catholic ethos of our school</li><li>commitment to the full range of College activities</li></ul><p>This position is classified as child related employment.<br /></p><p><i><b>Application Instructions:</b></i><br /></p><p><i>Interested applicants will need to submit a cover letter, CV and Application Form (see attached) as one pdf document. </i><i>Applications to be submitted via Teachers.On.Net only. </i><i>Please do not mail or email your CV directly to the College. </i></p>
