St Francis Xavier College is seeking a part-time temporary (30 hours/week, over 5 days) Learning Support Assistant for Term 1, 2021. St Francis Xavier's College, Hamilton, is a comprehensive, co-educational Senior College catering to vibrant young adults across Years 11 and 12. Committed to creating a contemporary space that caters to the diversity of its students, teachers are focused on offering a holistic approach to education acknowledging the mind, body and spirit of students and the importance of each in their development of personal and social responsibility.

The Learning Support Assistant works in collaboration with the Learning Support Teachers to support students with additional needs, supporting the development of inclusive learning environments and providing assistance to teachers to meet the specific learning needs of students with additional needs. <br> <h3>Essential Criteria:</h3> <br> • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and to actively supporting the Catholic ethos and culture of the school <br>• High level of communication and interpersonal skills when relating to students and other teachers with the ability to work collaboratively with school staff and members of the wider community <br>• Demonstrated experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder <br>• Demonstrated experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviours and ability to follow plans and procedures put in place for these students <br>• Understanding of non-violent crisis intervention strategies for school students <br>• Highly developed computer skills and an ability to use technology for education support <br>• Demonstrated appropriate experience and/or Certificate III in Special Education <br>• Demonstrated ability to contribute as a member of a team and assist in the planning, preparation and implementation of personalised plans and programs to enhance student support The applicant must provide evidence of the following: <br>• Current Paid Working with Children Check (WWCC)number; <br>• Completion of Anaphylaxis training. <br> <h3>Desirable Criteria:</h3> <br> <br> <h3>Renumeration:</h3> <br> Salary is in accordance with New South Wales &amp; Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2017. <br> <h3>Additional Info:</h3> <br> To apply: Please provide a cover letter (maximum 3 pages) addressing the selection criteria along with your resume and directly to the Principal’s Secretary – Susan Maloney: susan.maloney@mn.catholic.edu.au *Please note, not adequately addressing the selection criteria may result in your application not being shortlisted* Applications close: Wednesday 16th December, 2020. 3.00pm <br> <a href="https://www.mn.catholic.edu.au/employment/positions-vacant/job/9788/" target="_blank">More Information</a>
