We are looking for an experienced, suitably qualified experienced Learning & Teaching/Literacy Leader who is committed to Catholic Education, open to ongoing learning and development , who has a rigorous knowledge of primary curriculum and effective teaching and assessment strategies and is able to lead the continued development of Learning and Teaching with all staff.

<p>The successful applicant will be a highly skilled practitioner with leadership experience, preferably as a Learning &amp; Teaching Leader and /or Literacy Leader. They should have highly developed personal and interpersonal skills to assist them in working with and mentoring staff, able to engage with others as part of a high performing team in an environment of ongoing improvement and self reflection. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p><b>Commitment to Child Safety </b></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>At St Catherine of Siena we strive to maintain a child safe environment where each child feels safe and free to enjoy the day to the full without any concern for their safety. The successful applicant must: </p><p> </p><ul><li>be faith filled with a strong commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school and to the spiritual, emotional, social and educational wellbeing of all students </li><li>show exemplary learning and teaching skills with the capacity to engage others in evidence based practice</li><li>have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to continue to build strong relationships and engage in professional conversations designed to build capacity</li><li>have a sound knowledge of EAL best practise </li><li>have a thorough knowledge of assessment strategies, be adept at analysing and using this data effectively and assist other staff in this process</li><li>be able to mentor staff in evidence based best practice</li><li>have a rigorous understanding of contemporary learning and the Victorian Curriculum. </li></ul><p><b>Special Requirements </b></p><p>The successful applicant needs to: </p><p> </p><ul><li>be eager to embrace the Catholic ethos of our school </li><li>be an experienced classroom teacher with leadership experience</li><li>be accredited to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school </li><li>be committed to child safety, to maintaining best practices to ensure this and to ongoing evaluation of these practices </li><li>have read and be committed to maintaining the standards as set out in our Child Safe Code of Conduct </li><li>have read, and be aware of, the attached statement on the &#39;Principles Regarding Catholic Education&#39; and our Privacy statement </li><li>hold a valid VIT registration</li></ul>
