St Francis Xavier School, Manunda are seeking applications for the position of Assistant Principal - Pedagogy & Wellbeing, Commencing 16 January 2021

<h4>Working for Catholic Education Services, Cairns </h4><p>The Catholic Education Community – Diocese of Cairns, is a partnership between Catholic Education Services and twenty-nine schools. There are nineteen primary schools, 2 Prep to Year 12 College, and six secondary Colleges. The 29th school is a Special Assistance School with campuses in Cairns and Cooktown, catering for disengaged young people in Years 7-12. Two new schools opened in 2016 in Weipa (P-6) and Mt Peter (P-12).</p><h4>Purpose of the Role:</h4><p>As an Assistant Principal - Pedagogy &amp; Wellbeing, you will be a key member of the school&#39;s senior management team and will oversee pedagogy, particularly the early years and non-curriculum areas as well as enhance holistic education by driving strategic planning and ensuring efficient management of resources. You will also lead a team of Administrative staff to achieve excellence in school administration, operational and managerial support. In this way the Assistant Principal helps shape and implement a vision for the school that reflects the Catholic character of St Francis Xavier&#39;s and supports the Church&#39;s mission to educate students in discipleship within the Catholic tradition in a quality learning environment.</p><p>The Assistant Principal - Pedagogy &amp; Wellbeing works with the APRE to provide a vision for and leadership in the provision of quality pastoral wellbeing. The focus of the role is to lead and implement policy and procedures to ensure that all students maximise their learning through quality pastoral care approaches, programs and pedagogy. This includes the necessary support and initiatives to enable each student to develop a sense of identity and personal worth and to contribute to the overall good of the community.</p><h4>Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements</h4><ul><li>A strong commitment to the objectives, ethos, vision of Catholic Education</li><li>Participation in and commitment to the sacramental life of the Church </li><li>Understanding and commitment to education in the Catholic tradition </li><li>Professional qualifications in Education and Religion as per Queensland Catholic Education Commission Position Statement for Senior Leadership Positions in Catholic Schools in Queensland </li><li>Successful teaching experience including religious education </li><li>Leadership experience: </li><li>Demonstrated ability in religious and education leadership </li><li>Demonstrated administrative ability </li><li>Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships </li><li>Demonstrated ability in curriculum development including knowledge of contemporary educational issues at state and national levels with particular reference to Religious Education </li><li>Written and verbal communication skills of a high order </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to the Pastoral Care of members of the school community </li><li>Skills for building community including facilitation, delegation and consultation </li><li>Professional qualifications in Education </li><li>Registered or eligible to register with Queensland College of Teachers </li><li>Current drivers licence </li><li>A strong demonstrated commitment to the objectives, vision and ethos of Catholic Education </li><li>Promote child safety at all time</li></ul><h4>To Apply:</h4><p>Please download an application pack from our website - http://www.cns.catholic.edu.au/employment/current-positions</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>
