The Diocese covers thirty-seven primary and seven secondary schools from Cranbourne and Narre Warren in the west of the Diocese, to Wonthaggi in the south and Orbost in the east. <p>Applications are invited for the following position: </p><p><b>PRINCIPAL </b></p><p><b><i>St James Primary School – Nar Nar Goon</i></b></p><p><b><i>Current Enrolment: 119 (February 2020) </i></b></p><p><b><i>Classification: Principal Level 2 (1-199 students) </i></b></p><p><b><i>Commencement Date: Term 1, 2021 or by negotiation (for a period of eight years) </i></b></p><p><b>School Profile</b>    <br /></p><p>St James Catholic Primary School is one of three schools in the Parishes of Iona, Maryknoll and Koo Wee Rup. It serves the community of Nar Nar Goon and surrounding areas.</p><p>St James Primary School is committed to fostering an environment where the human dignity of all members of the school community is recognised and respected and students are supported to educational excellence through: </p><ul><li>living the call of Jesus to love God and one another </li><li>recognising the gifts each person brings to the school community and encouraging them to share these gifts  </li><li>implementing the Victorian Curriculum and the Diocese of Sale Religious Education Curriculum, To Live in Christ Jesus, ensuring learning entitlement and progress for all  </li><li>providing an inclusive child safe culture  </li><li>demonstrating strong instructional leadership practice </li><li>developing expert teachers through evidence based and targeted teaching practice  </li><li>promoting high expectations for every student. </li></ul><p><b>Requirements for all Applicants</b><br /></p><ul><li>Accreditation to Teach Religious Education or Lead in a Catholic School, or exemption from the requirement of Accreditation </li><li>Full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching </li><li>Master or Postgraduate qualifications in Education, Leadership, Religious Education or Theology </li><li>Relevant leadership experience in schools. </li></ul><p><b>Key Selection Criteria </b></p><p>The successful applicant will have a demonstrated capacity: </p><p><b><i>Catholic Identity and Religious Education </i></b></p><ul><li>to articulate and promote a deep understanding of Catholic identity within Catholic education and the place of a rich Religious Education curriculum to promote and support this identity. </li></ul><p><b><i> </i></b><b><i>Vision and values </i></b></p><ul><li>to articulate a compelling vision, aligned with system priorities and communicate expectations for effective performance of a school. </li></ul><p><b><i> </i></b><b><i>Leading learning and teaching </i></b></p><ul><li>as an instructional leader, including an ability to embed a culture of high expectation of student learning and build expert teacher practice which is evidence based, high impact and inclusive. </li></ul><p><b><i>Leading improvement </i></b><br /></p><ul><li>for strategic leadership focusing on leadership for school improvement, and an ability to design and implement high leverage improvement plans. </li></ul><p><b><i> </i></b><b><i>Leading the management of the school </i></b></p><ul><li>to ensure that the school’s human, physical and financial resources are efficiently allocated and managed, including ongoing compliance with legislated Child Safe Standards and the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority. </li></ul><p><b><i> </i></b><b><i>Engagement </i></b></p><ul><li>to develop positive relationships with students; parents and families; the local parish and wider community; and participate and contribute to DOSCEL activities. </li></ul><p><b><i> </i></b><b><i>Community  </i></b></p><ul><li>to foster a community which holds high aspirations and expectations maximising opportunities for all students. </li></ul><p>Information for Applicants, Application Form, Referee Forms and other relevant information may be found at the Catholic Education Office, Diocese of Sale website <a href="https://www.ceosale.catholic.edu.au/work-with-us" rel="nofollow">www.ceosale.catholic.edu.au</a>.
