<p>0.6 FTE - TEMPORARY, 12 MONTHS  START DATE 27/01/2021<br /><br />The successful applicant for this position will work with Aboriginal students in three schools: </p><ul><li>Bethlehem College, ( Years 7-12 Girls Catholic School)</li><li>De La Salle ( Years 7-12 Boys Catholic School)</li><li>St Vincent’s Catholic Primary School</li></ul><p>To improve the educational outcomes and continue to develop cultural knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students in the three Ashfield schools. </p><p><b>Essential Criteria</b>:</p><ul><li>Qualifications in teaching or current study in education required.</li><li>Support for the mission of and commitment to the ethos of Catholic schools.</li><li>Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal cultures, histories, and contemporary educational issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to plan and implement literacy and numeracy interventions targeted at improving educational outcomes for Aboriginal students.</li><li>Support the learning of both Primary and Secondary Aboriginal students through individual and small group instruction</li><li>Form partnerships and promote communication with parents of Aboriginal  students – especially in relation to regular school attendance, achievement, and wellbeing.</li><li>Promote, organise, and encourage student engagement in Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander cultural activities throughout the year, e.g. NAIDOC  Week, Reconciliation Week and Sydney Diocesan Cultural events.</li><li>An ability to work collaboratively and effectively with College and School Leadership Team members, Middle Leaders, staff and students.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Highly effective organisational skills, the ability to prioritise and manage workload and to use the Google platform for communication and planning. <br /></li></ul><p><br /><b>Applicants for this position are asked to ensure the following documentation is submitted by the due date to: maureen.oxford&#64;syd.catholic.edu.au</b></p><ul><li>A letter addressed to the Principals, outlining your suitability for the position.</li><li>A current Curriculum Vitae including experience, qualifications, academic transcripts, Working with Children check and at least three referees, including your current employer.<br /><br /></li></ul>
