We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and skilled Learning Support Officer (LSO) who is willing to work collaboratively in an open learning environment with other staff as part of our team. The successful applicant will work with students with various needs and abilities across all learning areas under the direction of teachers and with the support and direction of the Learning Diversity Leader. The position is for the 2021 school year, Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 3.30 pm. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children.

The position is for the 2021 school year, Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 3.30 pm. </p><p></p><p> The successful applicant will have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children. This community is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care. </p><p> <b>Role Description:</b></p><ul><li>Assist students on an individual or group basis in specific learning areas and programs as directed by student PLPs and/or the homegroup teacher </li><li>Maintain records of student observation and student progress  </li><li>Help maintain a positive learning environment for students </li><li>Assist with physical requirements of students requiring special care e.g. toileting </li><li>Liaise with cohort teachers in the first instance and  the Learning Diversity Leader</li><li>Attend and participate in Parent Support Group meetings for funded students where appropriate</li><li>Assist with the clerical duties associated with classroom activities e.g. preparation of equipment or resources </li><li>Attend to the first aid needs of students during break times as per the first aid duty roster</li><li>Adhere to school policies and procedures </li><li>Pursue and participate in professional learning: school based, systemic, regional and other sourced programs </li><li>Attend school LSO meetings (held within working hours)</li></ul><p><b>Special Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>Adhere to St Clare&#39;s Child Safety Policy and Code of Conduct and other policies relevant to Ministerial Order 870</li><li>An ability to work collaboratively to support and contribute to the building of a professional learning culture</li><li>Current Working With Children Check </li><li>Current National Criminal Record Check </li><li>Current Level 2 First Aid would be an advantage</li><li>Certificate of Education Support / Integration would be an advantage</li></ul><p><b>Application Instructions</b> </p><p>Applications should be made in writing and forwarded via email only to Andrew Leighton, at the following email address: principal&#64;sctruganina.catholic.edu.au.
